RTE Fair City viewers were all left saying the same thing after Mairead and Dean were caught kissing.
Tonight, Tommy tried to wriggle out of Emma’s double date plans.
Mairead was thrown when Tommy revealed that Dean had connected with his blind date over socials.
Emma put pressure on Orla about the missing bag, subtly letting her know she was wise to her and Kira’s antics.
A jealous Mairead was offish with Dean. Dean confronted Mairead and she gave into her desires.
Mairead and Dean were horrified when Renee caught them kissing.
Dean tried to quell Mairead’s fear that Renee would spill their secret.
Renee accused Dean of taking advantage of a vulnerable Mairead.
RTE viewers were all talking about the sticky situation on X.
One fan said: “I’d run after Renee before the whole of Carrigstown knows.”
Ciara wrote: “Does anyone knock anymore?”
Pamela commented: “That put a damper on the love nest.”
Sinead remarked: “Oh dear, oh dear. Get ready for a 15 minute lecture from Renee.”
Elsewhere, Kira and Orla tried to throw a suspicious Melanie off the scent.
Orla was relieved when Alex helped her track down the buyer, but they wanted to negotiate a higher price.
Kira fumed at having to take a financial hit over Orla’s mess.
Kira was relieved to have shut Emma down, but her stress about the auction persisted.
Meanwhile, Erica felt the pressure when Dolores piled on more responsibility at the salon.
Erica coached Georgie on their story for Doug.
Erica rejected Sharon’s suggestion that she should come clean to Doug.
Sharon reluctantly agreed to help a stressed Erica out with her course.
Georgie sowed a seed of doubt in Doug’s mind regarding the proposal.
Erica struggled to get the hang of payroll despite Sharon’s best efforts.
Georgie was concerned when Doug decided to go ahead with the proposal and ordered another ring.
Also in tonight’s episode, Renee was quietly confident the manager’s job was hers.
Jacinta took a dislike to Ellie. Jacinta tried to convince Greg to go for the manager’s position.
Ellie persuaded Mairead to look over Renee’s cv.
Jacinta’s curiosity was piqued when Cass referenced Ellie’s troubled past.
Jacinta filled Greg’s head with gossip about Ellie. Renee reeled when she discovered that Greg had decided to run for manager as well.
THE stars of a huge noughties drama sent fans wild when they reunited this weekend 15 years after the show was axed.
Viewers were left gutted in 2010 when the popular series came to an abrupt end after four seasons.
And last night Vanessa Williams was back together with her Ugly Betty co-star America Ferrera.
Actress and singer Vanessa, 61, is currently starring as Miranda Priestly in the Devil Wears Prada musical and was thrilled when America, 40, went to see the show.
She took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of them posing together and wrote: “Look who stopped by Runway Magazine!
“@americaferrera definitely had some deja vu remembering our Mode Magazine days together on #uglybetty.
“We were all thrilled to have you in our audience on a Saturday night in the West End at @pradawestend.”
Excited fans rushed to comment, with one writing: “I don’t think you understand how much the world would love for Ugly Betty to come back.”
Another said: “Somebody! Give us the Ugly Betty reunion movie we all want!”
And a third added: “This is iconic!!”
America starred as main character Betty Suarez in the series, which focused on the highs and lows Betty faced while working at fashion magazine Mode.
Most of the lows were thanks to the scheming ways of creative director Wilhemina Slater, played by Vanessa.
The show also starred the likes of Ashley Jensen as seamstress Christina McKinney, Eric Mabius as editor-in-chief Daniel Meade and Becky Netwon as receptionist Amanda Tanen Sommers.
Becky, 46, and Michael Urie – who starred as Wilhemina’s assistant Mark St James – recently teamed up to launch rewatch podcast Still Ugly, breathing new life into the beloved series.
And Ana Ortiz, who played Betty’s sister Hilda, has insisted the entire cast is on board for a reboot.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Ana, 54, said: “There’s been so much talk about it, thank you for asking.
“We’re very, very close and we’re all really wanting to do a reunion.”
WYNNE Evans’ showdown with the BBC has been put back by weeks over concerns for his mental health.
The Welsh tenor was sacked from the Strictly live tour and suspended from his BBC Radio Wales show last month following accusations he used inappropriate language.
Wynne, 53, had vowed to fight to save his reputation and told friends he would take the BBC to a tribunal if he lost his radio job.
But a planned meeting with the Beeb to discuss his future has now been put on hold.
A source said: “Wynne was due to meet the BBC last week to talk about the concerns raised against him and how, if they could, move forward.
“Wynne was ready to fight but in recent weeks he has been struggling mentally.
“The stress of what has happened to his reputation has been weighing heavily on his mind.
“The decision has been made to postpone the meeting by a couple of weeks to allow Wynne time to get his head straight.”
The Sun told earlier this month that Wynne felt he had been knifed by the BBC over his Strictly tour axe.
The Go Compare singer was sacked over a sexual comment during the tour’s press launch.
Those close to him said Wynne’s remark was not, as alleged, aimed at Strictly pro Janette Manrara, and was an in-joke.
They said: “Wynne knows the meaning behind his comment and, to his frustration, so do many of the dancers and celebrities on the tour.
“He is heartbroken by how this all played out and is upset that no one has spoken out to defend him publicly. The comment didn’t offend anyone and no one complained.
“Wynne feels badly let down.”
Following his tour exit Wynne said he had agreed to step away from his role on BBC Wales.
It was later claimed there were two other times concerns were raised to the BBC about his choice of words — once on his Radio Wales show and another while filming BBC1’s All At Sea with Gavin & Stacey’s Joanna Page.
EASTENDERS has confirmed a key member of the Fowler family IS returning – following Martin’s tragic death.
The character – played by James Bye – passed away in tragic scenes during Thursday’s live episode to mark EastEnders’ 40th anniversary.
Following his death, fans have speculated over which remaining members of the Fowler family will return for his funeral, which was pictured for the first time earlier on Sunday.
Bosses of the BBC soap went on to confirmed that Vicki Fowler – Martin’s niece – will be returning, but with a new actress taking on the role.
Now, EastEnders has confirmed fans’ hopes that Bex Fowler, Martin’s daughter, will return to Walford for his funeral.
Following a first look clip released on Sunday, showing Bex’s mum Sonia calling her daughter to give her the devastating news, Bex will jet in after years spent travelling the world to be with her mum and the rest of the family as they lay Martin to rest.
The tragedy will hit Bex hard as she tries to adjust to everything that’s happened in her absence, including Sonia’s incarceration for murder and the arrival of her newborn sister.
Actress Jasmine Armfield will reprise her role as Bex for a short stint, five years after leaving EastEnders in 2020.
Speaking of Bex’s return, EastEnders Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jasmine home to EastEnders as part of Martin’s farewell.
“There’s no way that Bex would miss her dad’s funeral, and Sonia needs her eldest daughter more than ever.
“It’s been five years in which Bex has gone out into the world, so she’ll come back with renewed wisdom and experience.”
On her return as Bex Fowler, Jasmine Armfield said: “It’s wonderful to be back at EastEnders and to see so many familiar faces.
“It’s amazing for me to come home, but for Bex, it’s an absolutely devastating time because she’s lost her dad.
“She’s grown up a lot, having spent the past few years travelling, so we’re going to see a much more mature and grown-up version of Bex this time around.”
Soap operas are staple viewing for many people, but even some of the most famous characters have been played by different actors. Here are some examples from over the years.

INJURED Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez warmed hearts after sharing snaps from his mum’s visit.
Martinez is in post-surgery rehab after tearing his ACL in the closing stages of Man Utd’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on February 2.
The Argentine is out for the rest of the season and is being supported by mum Silvina and his pregnant girlfriend.
In his latest update after surgery, Martinez shared pictures from his mum’s visit to his Manchester home.
The defender shared snaps of the pair hugging on his doorstep and a hilarious video of her helping him with exercises.
His heartwarming Instagram post was captioned: “Thank you for hugging my heart and making me smile. I love you Ma!”
His mum appeared to keeping his spirits up as she urged him to lift his injured right leg higher in the air.
Martinez was wearing his Man Utd training kit and the clip showed him watching his team-mates lose 1-0 to Spurs last Sunday.
The centre-back was laying on a rehab bed in his living room and his knee was covered in supportive tape.
And fans praised the adorable moment, with one writing: “There’s nothing like a mother’s love and motivation.”

While another said: “This is so adorable.”
A third added: “You’ve got this warrior.”
The 27-year-old was stretchered off at Old Trafford against Palace after injuring his knee.
The World Cup winner tussled for the ball with Eagles star Ismaila Sarr late on.
But he appeared to get his leg stuck in the turf and was in serious pain.
United have not won in the Premier League since his injury, losing to Spurs and drawing 2-2 with Everton this weekend.
Martinez underwent surgery this month and gave up an emotional update on social media.
He wrote on Instagram last week: “Today, after going through several stormy days where I allowed myself to feel and accept my sadness, helplessness, insecurities, fears, and a deep emotional imbalance, I am reconnecting with my essence and my values, which help me see things from a kinder and more positive perspective.”
Thanking his club and the Argentine national team, he added: “I feel immense gratitude for the incredible work and support of @manchesterunited , @afaseleccion , my family, friends, team-mates, and everyone who took the time to send me a message of encouragement.
Martinez showed he had the support of childhood sweetheart Muri Lopez Benitez and their much-anticipated first child.
The couple went public with 26-year-old Muri’s pregnancy last October.
Martinez and Muri posted a photo of them holding their baby scan, with the defender writing in a message alongside their snap: “We are so happy that you came into our lives. Thank you for choosing us.”
They later revealed they were expecting a daughter and have decided to name her Aurora.
Since his £56.7million move from Ajax, the defender has had two operations on his foot and damaged the medical ligament in his right knee, although that injury didn’t require surgery.
The Red Devils are hoping Martinez will be back to fitness for the start of next season.
FORMER EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison has revealed how the cast of the hit BBC soap will figure out they’re being axed.
Cheryl, 60, played the iconic role of Heather Trott who was the former best friend of Shirley Carter, the mother of George Trott, and huge George Michael fan.
Joining the soap in 2007, Heather was originally a guest character but soon became a key character in the soap.
But after five years of residing in Walford, Heather was murdered by Ben Mitchell in 2012 – with fans still up in arms over her exit to this day.
And now, after the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations that saw Martin Fowler get killed off during the live episode last week – Heather star Cheryl has spoken out.
Revealing what signs she spotted before she was axed from the soap, Cheryl has gotten candid in a new chat.
Speaking to Daily Star, Cheryl shared how she had predicted her axing before it happened.
“I had a feeling it might be coming,” she told the paper.
She explained how they would usually go and see the producers regularly to discuss their character’s storylines over the coming weeks.
“We’d always joke that either you’re going up to talk about your storyline, or you’re part of the culling,” she revealed.
She then recalled: “But that particular week, as Friday approached, I hadn’t had a meeting, and neither had Linda [who played the role of Shirley Carter].”
Because she hadn’t had a meeting with the producer, Cheryl thought that a big storyline for Heather might be looming.
And she was right.
“At the time, Brian Kirkwood was the producer, and when I walked in, he looked visibly upset. I had an inkling of what was coming,” she said.
“He asked me to sit down, and I knew straight away it wasn’t going to be anything exciting.
“He explained that the higher-ups—the Powers That Be—had decided they wanted to explore Shirley dealing with grief, which meant Heather was going to die,” Cheryl revealed.
With the 40th anniversary of EastEnders coming up, fans are looking forward to some more incredible cameos from iconic faces of Walford's past. But who have we had so far?
Tracy-Ann Oberman – Oberman returned as Chrissie Watts, a character she last played nearly two decades ago.
Paul Bradley – Bradley returned as Nigel Bates, a character he last played over 25 years ago.
Micheal French – French returned as David Wicks, a character he last played two decades ago.
Patsy Palmer – Palmer returned as Bianca Jackson, a character she last played in 2019.
Ricky Groves – Groves returned as Garry Hobbs, a character who has not been seen since 2009.
Cliff Parisi – Parisi returned as Minty Peterson, a character who was last seen on the square in 2010.
Ross Kemp – Kemp has returned to play Grant Mitchell, a character he first played in 1990. The BBC has described Kemp’s storyline as “explosive”. Kemp said it was an “absolute honour” to return to the show.
Other aspects of the EastEnders 40th anniversary celebration include: A wedding between fan favorites, A huge explosion at the Queen Vic, and A live interactive episode.
This comes after Cheryl told how she was forced to claim benefits and turn to a food bank for help after leaving the soap in 2012.
Opening up on her current financial situation to The Sun last week, the actress said: “My health is good, but my finances will take a long time to recover.
“Until I have steady work, I’m not rich or comfortable—I’m just surviving.
“I’ve been saying yes to everything for no money, but I need to start valuing my work and asking for fair pay. Even my agent insists on it.”
She went on: “Still, I’ll never give in. I want to keep singing. If people criticise me for singing in small restaurants, so be it.
“At the end of the day, I’m an entertainer. Community has always been important to me, and I’ll perform no matter the crowd.
“If only two people show up, I don’t care—I’m still being paid, and I’ll still give it my all.”
The actress added defiantly: “No one should be judged for trying to get back on their feet. One thing isn’t better than another—we all have our paths. I will always sing my heart out and I’m working my way back up.”
