2 weeks agoNews 1Comments Off on ‘They’re nasty, inappropriate & vulgar’ etiquette expert reveals 7 common items of clothing she absolutely hates
AN elegance coach has revealed seven items of clothing she absolutely hates as it makes women look “common.”
Anna Bey, who hosts coaching services, explained which garments and shoes you should avoid at all costs.
Instagram/annabeyElegance Anna Bey shared the clothing items she thinks you should avoid if you want to look classy[/caption]
GettyFirst up were jean hot pants, as seen on Carrie Underwood[/caption]
On herYouTube channel, which has 1.85million subscribers, she wrote: “If you want to look classy and have an elegant style aesthetic, DO NOT WEAR THESE THINGS.”
1. Hot pant shorts
When it comes to holidays or summer items, you should ditch having hot pant shorts in your 2025 wardrobe, according to Anna.
She shared: “Isn’t this nasty, or am I the only one who thinks that this is so inappropriate, so vulgar, and so rude?
“I just don’t understand how we can live in times where this is like, ‘Oh no, but this is normal, this is fine.’
“I personally don’t want to be so intimate with people that I have to really get into the nooks and crannies of their body parts—especially when we don’t even know each other. I don’t want to be that intimate with you.
“It’s the fact that when people are walking, they don’t realize that it’s actually going up their butt crack, and from behind, it is quite distracting that some women walk around like that.”
The elegance coach said she didn’t want to sound “uptight” but said “some boundaries are necessary among strangers.”
2. Cycling shorts
Next up was an item loved by celebrities from Hailey Bieber to Princess Diana.
Although the late royal was known for being a style icon, Anna said cycling shorts should be left out of your cupboard this year.
She argued: “The cycling shorts and the crop top don’t belong in the elegance department whatsoever.
PACycling shorts – as seen on Princess Diana – were also slammed by Anna[/caption]
“In fact, I personally don’t think they’re very flattering on anyone. Plus, it just looks weird.
“It’s almost like the athleisure trend is just here like a hemorrhoid—unable to leave us and constantly needing to reinvent itself year after year.”
Taking a swipe at Justin Bieber’s chic wife Hailey, she said: “Every time I do these videos, I always go and Google something like ‘Hailey Bieber, what is she wearing?’ because I always get so many new ideas of what to put on today’s list.”
3. Puffer bomber jacket
GC ImagesPuffer jackets were also a no for the elegance coach (as seen on Hailey Bieber)[/caption]
Another item loved by Hailey and a number of famous faces is a puffer bomber jacket.
Anna added: “That’s actually a piece of garment that I know is super popular right now, but I don’t think it belongs in the elegant aesthetic department either.
“In fact, I think it looks kind of weird.
“It almost feels like they’re just trying really, really hard to look cool, to look edgy.”
4. Crop top
SplashYou may not have to keep up with Kim Kardashian, as crop top were also banned[/caption]
The next clothing item on Anna’s banned list was crop tops, which are loved by Kim Kardashian.
The etiquette expert explained: “My pet peeve is the crop top.
“I cannot stand the crop top, and now the crop top has really become mainstream and oversaturated.
“Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going anywhere, although I’m still here praying every morning, hoping that today, I won’t have to see it anymore.
“But no—I still see it every time I step outside my door.”
5. Muscle shirt
BackGridAnother Kim favourite was also barred – the muscle T-shirt[/caption]
Another item loved by Kim Kardashian on Anna’s avoid list is a “muscle T-shirt.”
Anna continued: “I think this is a garment that is very tricky to style, especially if you like to have a feminine aesthetic.
“The reason why it looks so masculine is because it cuts off here in the arms, which really widens the upper body.
“You basically look broader and, therefore, more masculine.”
She reasoned that ladies who have a more masculine or edgy aesthetic may find the T-shirt to be a good choice.
However, she said that on her channel she focuses on “elegant, classic, or feminine aesthetic.”
6. Hoodies
GettyThe etiquette expert was also not a fan of hoodies, which have been seen on numerous celebrities, including Khloe Kardashian[/caption]
Another item loved by millions is the “dear old hoodie”, according to Anna.
The elegance professional advised: “The hoodie set is basically a walking pajama in public. “Okay, I get it—yes, it looks very comfortable, but it also looks like you’re walking around in your loungewear in public.
“Some people even go to the office like that!
“Again, I don’t want to sound like someone who comes from the Middle Ages—maybe that’s what you think about me, I don’t know.
“But I just don’t think that this makes any sense. I think a little boundary is good to have.
“You might want to keep some things private.”
7. Over-the-knee boots
GC ImagesAnna also wasn’t a fan of over-the-knee boots, as seen on singer-songwriter Kesha[/caption]
Last but not least, Anna said you should avoid over-the-knee boots, if you don’t want to look “common”.
Specifically the high-heeled version.
Anna concluded: “I know that some petite ladies struggle with this kind of boot because it shortens the leg a little.
“The flat version is fine, but the problem is with the high-heeled version. It can easily look a little bit vulgar, right?
“I’ve certainly seen over the years how some ladies are able to style it in a way that looks really classy and sophisticated.
“But, unfortunately, it can get tricky. If you get the styling wrong, you will instantly look more on the cheaper side—it just looks less refined.”

IAN WRIGHT has serious fears over the futures of three Arsenal stars – who he reckons could RUN DOWN their contracts with the club.
The north Londoners’ slim hopes of winning their first Premier League title since the 2003-04 season went up in smoke last weekend as they fell 11 points behind table-toppers Liverpool thanks to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham.

ReutersThe contract of crocked winger Bukayo Saka expires in the summer of 2027[/caption]
GettyAs do the current deals Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are on[/caption]
The ending of the Gunners’ title hopes comes just weeks after manager Mikel Arteta failed to land a new striker to alleviate his attacking woes.
The decision prompted many of the Emirates faithful, including Wright, to question the club’s ambitions in the transfer market.
During the latest episode of Wrighty’s House podcast, he said: “When you’re talking about renewals with certain players, Saka, Gabriel [Magalhaes], Saliba, the way they’re moving now, I bet those renewals are all going to be slow,’ Wright said.
“We’re going to have a situation maybe like Liverpool with Trent, Salah and Virgil.
“If I’m one of these players, and their teams are going to be saying, ‘Let’s wait and see, we’ve got two years left so let’s wait and see who they get in the summer.
“‘I know the manager has signed again but let’s wait and see.’
“If they’re not going to get the kind of players that take us to the next step, look at Saliba. Real Madrid would take him tomorrow.

“Why not wait and see what’s going on in the summer to see the kind of players and calibre of player we’re signing. This is what the people upstairs need to be careful of.”
Wright, the Gunners’ former all-time leading goalscorer, believes his fears are also shared by Arteta.
He continued: “I’m sure Mikel will have told them that because he’s probably got the same kind of ambition.
“‘If you’re not going to give me the kind of players I need, I’m not going to be able to keep the players I’ve got here that are our best players, who are now running down their contracts.
“We haven’t even got into that conversation yet about these players.
“This summer and who comes is f***ing vitally important to these players.
“‘There’s a lot going on right now that needs to be unpacked by these people upstairs and they better get it right. They better get it right.”
Magalhaes, Saka and Saliba’s respective multi-million-pound contracts at the Emirates all expire in the summer of 2027.
Arsenal will be back in action on Wednesday night, travelling to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

Constitution Hill was forced to miss last year’s Festival after a disastrous Kempton showing.
But there were no such worries this year as he looked back to his best and ready to win a second title next month.
Bookies weren’t blown away, though, with Coral keeping him 1-2 fav for the day one feature.
And the big move took place in the Mares’ Hurdle, where Brighterdaysahead was hammered back into fav on the Betfair Exchange.
Gordon Elliott’s awesome hurdler drifted markedly in the Champion Hurdle markets as Constitution Hill put on a show.
She had rocketed to almost as big as 10-1 on the Exchange in the moments before Constitution Hill’s showing.
But some punters think she’ll be scared off taking on Hendo’s charge now, as he was backed into 1.82 (4-5).
Elliott has already confirmed a decision will be made on which race she goes for later this week.
More to follow.

2 weeks agoNews 1Comments Off on Mystery Reading buyer revealed as owner of two other football clubs as EFL side finally set to be saved from extinction
READING’S latest potential buyer is American businessman Robert Platek, owner of Italian club La Spezia and Portuguese side Casa Pia.
The League One club yesterday announced that they had entered a “period of exclusivity with a potential purchaser” and were hopeful of “a quick completion,” although declined to name them.
JASONPIXDai Yongge put Reading up for sale in 2023[/caption]
GettyRobert Platek is Reading’s mystery buyer[/caption]
SunSport has learned that the buying group are led by Platek with support from long-time associate Nishant Tella, a former investment banker who is now a partner at Clean Slate Capital.
Platek is a serial investor in football and already owns Serie B club La Spezia and Lisbon club Casa Pia, who are currently sixth in the Portuguese top-flight.
The 60-year-old previously owned Danish club Soenderjysky, but sold them after just two years shortly after completing the £21million purchase of La Spezia in 2021.
La Spezia are currently third in Serie B pushing strongly for a return to the top flight after being relegated in a relegation play-off two years ago.
Platek is the fifth potential buyer to enter exclusive talks with Reading in the last 12 months following offers from former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig, ex-Reading chairman Roger Smee and two proposals involving property magnate Paul Taylor.
Significantly however, the proposed deal involves Platek buying the controlling stake of owner Dai Yongge, along with Reading’s stadium and training ground, keeping all of the club’s assets in one company.
Platek’s plans for Reading are unclear, but he has extensive experience in football, including in England. In addition to his personal investments in European football he is a partner at MSD Capital, the investment vehicle of technology billionaire Michael Dell.
MSD become significant players in English football and have lent tens of millions to several clubs including Southampton, Burnley, Derby and Sunderland over the last decade.

Platek’s proposed purchase of Reading would be a personal venture with no links to MSD however, removing concerns over potential conflicts of interest.
Reading were put up for sale by Yongge in October 2023, but despite considerable interest have been unable to complete a sale. The club have informed the EFL about the potential buyers and are hopeful a sale can be completed quickly.
“Reading can confirm it has committed to a letter of intent with a potential purchaser of the club,” they said. “The parties will now enter a period of exclusivity to complete final due diligence and legally complete the transaction.
“Whilst timelines cannot be guaranteed, the structure of the deal should allow for a quick completion, which would be for the benefit of all concerned.
The club can confirm the agreed sale includes the transfer of Mr Dai’s shareholding in The Reading Football Club Limited, as well as the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Facility.”
Fans’ group Sell Before We Dai have fought a long-running campaign pressuring Yongge to sell following frustration at the club’s financial problems, numerous transfer embargoes and late-payment of players leading to them being docked a total of 18 points by the EFL.
In a statement released on Monday however, the supporters sounded cautiously optimistic that Yongge’s eight-year ownership could be drawing to a close.
“The optimist in us may see today’s announcement as positive and welcome news,” a statement read.
“The tone of the [Reading] statement seems different to before and we all hope that a deal can be done soon. We’ve been here before with the Dais though. Until a sale is done our campaign continues.”
Reading are ninth in League One, three points off the play-off places, with new manager Noel Hunt doing an excellent job since replacing Ruben Selles, who left for Hull in December.
Reading and the EFL declined to comment.
