Kyle Walker’s football agent at centre of drugs raid after cops uncover over 90 cannabis plants DAYS after AC Milan deal

THE home of a top football agent who helped seal Kyle Walker’s move to AC Milan was last night at the centre of a drugs raid.

Michael Rankine, 40, joined the former Manchester City skipper on his private jet last week as he flew out to sign for the Italian giants.

The ex-footballer was even photographed with the England full-back as he was unveiled to the fans holding up his new number 32 shirt.

But 48 hours after he returned to the UK, a police raid at his home was said to have uncovered more than 90 cannabis plants with a potential street value of £75,000.

They also recovered equipment used to produce the Class B drug.

A source said: “It was a huge shock to everyone after what should have been a triumphant return from Italy.”

They added: “Michael flew out with Kyle in his jet on Thursday. His uncle Mark, who is Kyle’s agent, was also on the flight.

“They got the deal over the line and were jubilant. Michael posed with Kyle for pictures, returned to the UK over the weekend and then on Monday his home was raided by police.”

Rankine, who played as a striker for Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe and Bournemouth during a 16-year career, is employed as a consultant for London firm CAA Base.

It represents a host of Premier League footballers such as Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and James Maddison and manager Ange Postecoglu.

On its website, CAA Base said Rankine joined the company in late 2018 after retiring from the game. It adds: “Based in Yorkshire, he helps recruit, manage and guide young professional footballers.”

His ex-pro uncle, Mark, who played for Wolves and Sheffield United, also works for the company.

He represents players including Chelsea and England ace Cole Palmer and Newcastle and former Three Lions defender Kieran Trippier.

Rankine is also a cousin of former Tottenham Hotspur and England star Danny Rose.

South Yorkshire police confirmed in a statement that officers executed a warrant at an address in Doncaster.

The raid happened on a busy residential street in full view of neighbouring families.

Police added: “Following officers entering the property, we discovered a cannabis set-up.”

The Sun contacted CAA for comment. Walker’s loan deal is tipped to lead to a full-time £4million summer move.

Death in Paradise airs shock death of rookie officer minutes into new series in heartbreaking scenes

DEATH in Paradise fans have been left stunned as the first episode of series fourteen featured a shocking twist.

The series introduced a new officer to the Saint Marie police force, with actor Anthony J Abraham taking on the role of Officer Benjamin Brice.

However, his time on the show was tragically cut short within minutes of the new season’s premiere.

The episode opens with a monologue from Benjamin, as he reflects on his childhood struggles and his journey toward finding purpose in life.

He recalls feeling out of place in his own family.

His mother wanted him to focus on chores, while his father, a car thief, attempted to involve him in criminal activities.

However, Benjamin found solace in his studies and ultimately discovered his true calling at the Saint Marie police academy.

Speaking directly to the camera in a heartfelt social media post, he tells viewers: “When I completed training, I’d never felt so proud of myself. In the morning, I’ve got my first shift with the team here on Saint Marie – and I can’t wait.

“The reason I’m telling you all of this, making this post which is something I never do, is because I want you to know that if you’re feeling lost, you don’t need to go through what I did.

“You just need to find your purpose in life, like me. Once you do, nobody can take that away from you.”

But the next morning, Sergeant Naomi Thomas is puzzled by Benjamin’s absence.

Her concern quickly escalates when the station receives a distressing phone call from a woman who has discovered a body dressed in a police uniform.

In a devastating twist, Benjamin is found face down in the dirt where his body was discarded in a roadside ditch, still carrying his backpack for his first day on the job.

The brutal and unexpected nature of Benjamin’s death has left viewers reeling, with many taking to social media to express their shock.

Most memorable Death in Paradise episodes

By Conor O’Brien

  • Arriving in Paradise: The show’s very first episode, introducing Ben Miller as the straight-laced DI Richard Poole. This episode also introduces Poole’s team and the fictional island location location of Saint Marie.
  • Amongst Us: The eighth episode of series one sees Richard uncover a major secret about Aidan (Adrian Dunbar), who has been dating Catherine (Elizabeth Bourgine). Far from his Line of Duty character Ted Hastings, Aidan is revealed to be a murderer.
  • Death of a Detective: The first episode of series three marks a major turning point for Death in Paradise. DI Poole is killed off – with his murder being the first case for replacement DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall). This mirrors two years earlier, when Poole solved his predecessor’s murder.
  • Stab in the Dark: This instalment, the first episode of series four, proved memorable for two reasons. It marked the introduction of Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) who became a long-running character. Meanwhile, Don Gilet guest-starred as the killer – almost a decade before becoming the show’s latest DI.
  • Swimming in Murder: Similarly to above, this episode marks the first appearance of JP Hooper (Tobi Bakare), who starred for seven series.
  • Man Overboard (Part One and Two): This two-parter in series six had a lot of different elements involved. Some of the team travelled to London, DI Goodman exited the show – while newcomer DI Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon) made his first appearance.
  • Switcharoo: Airing as the fifth episode of series nine, this was the first intalment following DI Mooney’s departure. In his place came DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) – who became the show’s longest-serving DI.
  • Sins of the Detective: The latter half of a two-parter in series 12, which saw Neville in the frame for murdering smarmy criminologist David Cartwright. Although the team eventually uncover the actual murder, it comes with a big shock.
  • A Murder in the Skies: The finale of series 13 marked Neville’s exit from Saint Marie. The unlucky-in-love detective got a happy ending by sailing into the sunset with love interest Florence Cassell – who’d returned a few episodes earlier.

The 27-year-old passed away just three days after the botched surgery after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest.

Denisse underwent an operation the San Pablo Medical Clinic in Tuxtla Gutiérrez by a surgeon who was not authorised to perform the procedure, according to her family.

Doctor Orlando Gamboa was later named by Denisse’s loved ones after her uncle, Ammao Rodríguez, said the TikTok star reacted badly to intravenous medication administered to her.

Rodriguez told the Daily Mail her heart stopped beating shortly after the operation due to the adverse reaction.

Denisse’s sister Massiel Reyes left a touching tribute for the popular social media star, saying: “The day I said goodbye to you, I hugged you, I told you ‘See you in Tampico’ and I didn’t want to let you go.

“The situation in which my sister lost her life is private, and for that reason I ask for total respect for the pain of my mother and my nephew Matías.

“I can only thank all those who have spoken to me out of concern for her.”
