‘Bro thinks he’s Kate Abdo’ say fans as David Jones introduces very familiar panel for Sky’s coverage of Arsenal vs City

SKY SPORTS took some not so subtle inspiration from a rival broadcaster for their studio panel coverage of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City.

In the broadcaster’s studio at the Emirates, Sky had the services of Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

It was an identical panel to the one shown on CBS Sports with Kate Scott as the presenter instead of David Jones[/caption]

Along with host Kate Scott, formerly Abdo, the group has become one of the internet’s favourite trios thanks to their boisterous Champions League coverage on CBS Sports.

Sky work with Richards and Carragher most weeks, while Henry is also a semi-regular pundit.

And at the start of coverage today, presenter David Jones took inspiration from Scott’s own intro style.

Introducing the panel, Jones said: “What a trio we have assembled for the job this afternoon. So good I can’t believe no one has thought of this before.

“Thierry Henry, Arsenal Invincible. Jamie Carragher, Champions League winner.”

Jones then paused for dramatic effect before saying: “And Micah Richards.”

The pause and lack of listed titles prompted laughter from Henry and Carragher, much in the same way Scott’s jabs at Richards on CBS do.

As the laughter died down, Jones then continued: “Premier League title winner, only respect here on Sky Micah.”

As the saying goes: imitation is the best form of flattery.

And some fans appreciated the attempt to emulate the magic seen on European nights.

Reacting on social media, one fan ironically said: “Good trio that. I reckon they’d do some great coverage of the Champions League.”

A second said: “Whoever merged these three as pundits deserves some recognition.”

Other fans weren’t so impressed, with one saying: “The vibes ain’t the same.”

A second said: “CBS does it best with Kate, Sky just can’t compete.”

A third added: “Sky desperate to entertain like CBS.”

Another said: “Are they allowed Brest jokes?”

A fifth said: “No originality with Sky, biting off CBS.”

A sixth said: “Bro thinks he’s Kate Abdo.”

Disgraced Love Island star Jack Fincham looks carefree as he hits the gym days after being released on bail

LOVE Island star Jack Fincham looked relaxed and carefree as he joined girlfriend Chloe Brockett to head to the gym, just days after being released on bail.

Jack Fincham, who won Love Island 2018 alongside former girlfriend Dani Dyer, was seen smiling as he carried his gym kit and boxing gloves after being freed on bail over a vicious dog attack.

Jack is scheduled to be in a boxing match in March, but it remains to be seen whether he will fight or be serving his jail sentence[/caption]

Walking alongside girlfriend and The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Brockett, Jack smiled and looked happy just days after being released on bail.

The reality TV star, 32, is currently appealing a six-week prison sentence after his dog Elvis bit a jogger, leaving him facing potential jail time as well as another attack.

Fincham was sentenced for two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog earlier this year, following a shocking incident where his pet Elvis attacked a runner.

The TV personality has since launched an appeal, allowing him to remain free for now but it remains to be seen whether he will be called to prison for his sentence.

With a legal battle ahead, Jack appeared unbothered as he headed away from the gym where he’s been focusing on an intense training regime ahead of an upcoming boxing match next month.

The match is scheduled for March 1st but whether or not it takes place hangs in the balance, as the former Love Island winner could be back behind bars by the time he’s set to step into the ring.

Jack, who has had a turbulent few months, was seen laughing and joking with Chloe who sipped a coffee.

Chloe has stood by Jack throughout his legal troubles, including hitting back at online trolls who mocked her for her boyfriend’s conviction.

Chloe previously cried in the courtroom when Jack’s conviction and sentence was read out, but he was released just two hours later.

A pal told The Sun: “When the judge handed Jack a custodial sentence Chloe screamed out ‘no’. She was hysterical and had to be supported by family members as she repeatedly said ‘what am I going do without my best friend?’

“Jack tried to reassure Chloe by putting a thumbs up but that did nothing to calm Chloe as she was supported out of court.”

“People forget how young Chloe is because she’s been on our screens for so long but it’s a lot to deal with for a 24 year old girl,” they added.

“She was willing to pay anything to get Jack out on bail and home with her.

“The shock of thinking they would have to spend six weeks apart has brought them closer together.

“Chloe is Jack’s rock right now.”

Jack’s sog Elvis bit runner Robert Sudell in 2022 in Swanley, Kent, and attacked a woman in Grays, Essex, last June.

In court, he admitted two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog, with one of the incidents causing injury.

After the first incident in September 2022, Jack attended a dog behaviour course, and was given three rules to follow in order to avoid further trouble.

These were to always keep the dog on the lead, for the dog to wear a muzzle when outside and to not leave the animal alone with anyone under the age of 16.

His failure to comply led to the second incident in June 2024.

As part of the sentence, Jack was also ordered to pay £3,680 – including £200 compensation fee to Robert and a £50 compensation fee to the other victim.
