6 days agoLatest NewsComments Off on How Arsenal spent ENTIRE Man City clash winding up Erling Haaland – from brutal celebrations to grabbing shorts
ERLING HAALAND will remember the day he reached 250 club goals in precisely the opposite way he’d like to.
Blame Arsenal for that, with a tireless display of winding-up the Manchester City striker that went far beyond a 5-1 win.
Erling Haaland and Gabriel were up close and often personalRexRexHaaland bagged a landmark goal – but was almost debagged by Gabriel[/caption]
Brazilian star Gabriel thought he was a roaring success in taunting Haaland
Such a dismal defeat was only the final insult for the 24-year-old, who won the Premier League title and Golden Boot in his first two seasons at the Etihad.
The defender sat with his arms out and eyes closed – while he was lauded by team-mates standing around him.

Meanwhile, Gabriel continued his series of combative, niggly encounters with Haaland – sometimes appearing to push him away off the ball.
The two exchanged words at one moment, with the forward appearing to smile.
And Gabriel’s worst – or best moment, depending how you look at it, arrived when the Gunners were 4-1 up.
The 27-year-old was on the ground when he reached out to tug down at Haaland’s shorts.
Again the City man – this time quite literally – appeared to take the matter in his stride.
He briefly looked round to see what was happening but carried on walking away.
Unfortunately for Haaland, he could also be seeing the back of his third Prem crown in a row.
City, in fourth are now 15 points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Some fans reacted to the Gunners merciless treatment of Haaland by telling him: “If you talk the talk you have to walk the walk.”
Another suggested: “The prem has missed something like this.”
And a third said: “As it should be. A defender should rattle strikers and that’s what big Gabby is doing.”
But others praised Haaland for appearing to keep his composure.
Sky Sports posted a clip of a string of incidents involving the 6ft 4ins ace and his man marker, adding the words: “It’s safe to say there was a bit of needle between Haaland and Gabriel today…”
But one fan posted: “Needle from Gabriel, yes. Haaland is an adult.”
However, the mature performance as a team came from Arsenal, with City gifting the Gunners their opener then collapsing in the last 34 minutes.

6 days agoLatest NewsComments Off on Liam Cahill says Tipperary are ‘on the right track’ after victory over Wexford
LIAM CAHILL says Tipperary are on the “right track” by blooding young players as they rose to the top of Division 1A with a six-point victory over relegation-threatened Wexford.
Darragh McCarthy’s second penalty in two starts secured the spoils as he unleashed an identical finish to his goal against Galway to secure back-to-back Premier wins.
Tipperary’s young stars shined in the win over Wexford on Sunday afternoonTipperary are top of the Allianz Hurling League Division 1A after the win
His 1-7 led the way among 12 different Tipp scorers in what ultimately was a mediocre League encounter in front of 5,125 fans at Semple Stadium.
The Tipp boss said: “Darragh McCarthy is very young but he’s a capable player. Big credit to him, at 20-odd years of age, to be able to stand up there on that stage, both last week and again today.
“That’s what you can’t beat, giving players of that age and that potential those opportunities.
“It mightn’t be seen from the stands as anything major now but I guarantee you down the road it’s big because it allows that player to really believe in himself.
“And we’re on the right track with the majority of these younger fellas that are coming through.”
With bigger challenges to come, starting away to Limerick on Sunday, Cahill remains focused on the lessons to be learned for their championship opener against the Munster holders.
He added: “We don’t have to really prove anything to anybody, only ourselves,” he said of their League ambitions.
“We’re very much aware of arriving towards the end of the League with a good settled team, regardless of where we are in the table.
“The 20th of April against Limerick is the ultimate target.”
The full-back line proved Tipp’s most impressive combination between Michael Breen, full-back Eoghan Connolly, and Robert Doyle, making his first start.
They didn’t allow Wexford a sniff of goal while outscoring the visiting full-forward line from play. Connolly notched two points from inside his own half and Breen tagged on one more.
Their midfield were also effective with Craig Morgan winning the penalty and Willie Connors matching his three-point haul against the Tribesmen.
Tipp led throughout the first hour without ever burning off the visitors.
They were 0-12 to 0-8 ahead at half-time having carved out two goal chances. Sticky Wexford defending denied them in both instances as Eoin Ryan hooked Jake Morris and Richie Lawlor hooked Morgan.
Those two met again for the penalty incident as Morgan was taken down by Lawlor. McCarthy stepped up and fired it to that familiar bottom right-hand corner.
Keith Rossiter made five changes from Wexford’s heavy defeat to Cork and will be most pleased with how his young team fought to the very end, tagging on four consecutive points in stoppage time.
Free-taker Cian Byrne finished with 0-7 while debutant Darren Codd and Jack Redmond, on his first start, stood out.
Rossiter said: “The performance last weekend didn’t justify the work the players had put in,”
“It was like a first round of a Walsh Cup type of match from us. We were running over balls, mishandling balls, misplacing passes, not coming off the shoulder, not doing support play.
“It was like we’d just returned after Christmas. The players themselves weren’t happy and I wasn’t happy.
“Today was about getting a bit of momentum, getting a bit of fight back into it, supporting each other, getting the handling right, and I think we did that.”
He will hope to get at least one of Lee Chin, Damien Reck, or Cathal Dunbar back on the field for the visit of Kilkenny to Wexford Park on Saturday.
After a losing start, Rossiter isn’t fixated on the relegation battle.
“I’m not worried at all about it. We’re trying to rebuild a squad, find new players, and whatever way the results go, the results go.
“Of course, I want to win every game and I’d be disappointed getting beat but I want performances.”

LOVE Island fans are convinced show bosses told Curtis Pritchard to pick Ekin-Su in the latest recoupling.
For the past few days Curtis had been getting to know new girl Danielle Sellers and it looked like he was going to couple with her.
ITVCurtis Pritchard chose to recouple with Ekin-Su[/caption]
ITVHis reaction afterwards confused just about everyone[/caption]
However, in awkward scenes that shocked every Islander and Ekin herself, Curtis went back for her.
He said: “I am gonna go with my heart and with my gut. The person I am going to couple up with is Ekin.”
After making his decision he then sat gazing up into the sky with teary eyes, attracting curious looks from the other villa stars.
Even Ekin could be seen questioning what was wrong with him.
Viewers thought it was all a bit forced and one wrote on X: “The producers 100% told Curtis to pick Ekin.”
Another said: “Curtis asking Ekin if she’s shocked and then visibly, but silently crashing out I front of people is certainly… a choice.”
A third wrote: “Is curtis okay? why does he look like his cat has just died??”
He and Ekin had a heart to hear after the recoupling in which he turned on the charm.
He said: “I genuinely loved getting to know you and being around you I think you’re beautiful and sexy and have so much about you.
“I didn’t handle the situation of the whole Danielle coming in, I should have said straight away it confused me. I didn’t and said what you wanted to hear and I shouldn’t have done that.”
Ekin told him: “What I have with you overpowers everything.”
After promising to be truthful with each other going forward, they shared a kiss and giggled.
Curtis then sought Danielle for a chat and stumbled through an explanation.
He reiterated his connection with Ekin, but Danielle said he could easily have said he was closed off at any point, but he never did.
Curtis and Ekin clashed days ago after Curtis admitted he had led Ekin on following the a recoupling shake-up, where bombshell Danielle picked him.
Sitting down for a tense chat, Curtis confessed: “I’ll be completely honest with you. I lied to you.”
Ekin-Su was left fuming, feeling played after Curtis revealed he hadn’t been “100% honest” and admitted that he should never have told her he was closed off.

THE heartbroken mum of Laos methanol poison victim, Simone White, has revealed the haunting final text the Brit lawyer sent to her.
Six unsuspecting tourists were tragically killed after drinking the same laced shots at a hostel bar in Vang Vieng last November.
Laos methanol poison victim, Simone White, with her mum SueSimone, 28, died last November after drinking laced shots on a trip to Vang ViengFacebook60 Minutes AustraliaSue revealed her daughter’s final message in an interview alongside Simone’s friend Bethany Clarke[/caption]
Simone, 28 was among the victims after she was rushed to hospital in a near paralytic state before being placed on life support for three days.
She said she feared Simone would die after being called by the hospital who told her she needed emergency brain surgery.
After arriving at Laos hospital Sue was given the devastating ultimatum over whether to leave her daughter on life support or not.
Doctors refused to switch off the machine due to their religion – but told Sue she could do it herself.
The distraught mum said she had to take a tube out of her dying daughter’s mouth before making the incredibly painful and “traumatic” decision to switch off the machine.
Three months on from the tragic events, Sue has now revealed she was sent a text message from her daughter the day before the fatal shots were consumed.
Speaking on Australia’s 60 Minutes news show, Sue said the message read: “I’m having the best time, you know, it’s an absolutely fantastic holiday.”
The mum continued: “That’s the last message I got from her, and that was on the Tuesday, probably early evening Laos time – just before this incident occurred.
“She’d messaged me as it was all happening but that was the final message I got from her.”
Bethany had met the lawyer in Southeast Asia to explore the country and miraculously survived the vodka poisoning.
Bethany says she remembers watching the bartender pour the toxic drinks but had no clue anything was wrong.
The friends woke up the next day feeling incredibly lethargic and only slightly ill, she said.
She told 60 Minutes she felt “not that bad, I didn’t think anything bad was going to happen”.
But now Bethany revealed that lethargy was a symptom of the methanol poisoning.
She said: “You just physically can’t move, you’re more or less paralysed.
“You can still walk but everything is much, much, much more difficult than it would be ordinarily.”

Their symptoms became worse and Bethany started feeling nauseous, incredibly fatigued, and she even fainted.
The pair were taken to hospital by other travellers, where Simone began to have seizures and could no longer breathe on her own.
Bethany has made a full recovery, despite drinking the same number of shots as Simone.
She said it has been difficult coming to terms that she survived while Simone died.
Bethany said: “I think we’ve just had to try and get through the funeral and obviously we want to try and spread awareness and make sure other people don’t have to go through this.
“And then I can sort of start on my own journey of trying to come to terms with it all.”
Eight employees at Nana Backpackers Hostel were arrested over the poisoning, but all were released from custody.
No charges have been laid for the six deaths and the hostel has been closed.
The hostel manager, Duong Duc Toan, and a bartender, Toan Van Vanng, previously denied allegations that methanol was in drinks.
Toan said he bought the alcohol from a licensed seller and said the free shots were given to 100 people.
The hostel manager claimed other guests had not reported being ill and he took a shot in front of cops.
One pal claimed staff refused to call an ambulance and a female worker massaged the toes and feet of one of the Danish women while she was having a seizure.
Danish friends Anne-Sofie Orkild Coyman, 20, and Freja Vennervald, 21, died after they were left vomiting blood for 13 hours.
Australian friends Bianca Jones and Holly Bowles, both 19, also died in the tragedy.
The alarm was raised by staff over their condition after the teens failed to check out on the morning of November 13.
Why is methanol so deadly?
METHANOL is a super-toxic version of alcohol that may be present in drinks if added by crooks to make them stronger or if they are brewed or distilled badly, writes The Sun's health correspondent Sam Blanchard.
The consequences can be devastating because as little as a single shot of contaminated booze could be deadly, with just 4ml of methanol potentially enough to cause blindness.
Prof Oliver Jones, a chemist at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, said: “The body converts methanol to formic acid.
“Formic acid blocks the action of an enzyme that is critical to how the body uses oxygen to generate energy.
“If it stops working, cells cannot take up or use oxygen from the blood and lack of oxygen causes problems in a range of organs as the cells start to die.
“Symptoms of methanol poisoning include vomiting, seizures and dizziness.
“The optic nerve seems to be particularly vulnerable to methanol toxicity, so there is the potential for temporary or permanent blindness, and even death.
“While thankfully rare, methanol poisoning is very serious, and treatment should be given at a hospital.”
An unexpected but key way of treating methanol poisoning is to get the patient drunk with normal alcohol – known as ethanol – to distract the liver and stop it processing the methanol.
