Royal family’s most memorable wardrobe mishaps – from Kate wearing her top backwards to Zara’s car mishap

THE royal family are known for their elegant style and impeccable etiquette but sometimes it doesn’t always go according to plan.

Zara Tindall, who is often hailed as the most relatable royal, recently had a mishap with her dress during her recent visit to Australia.

Princess Anne’s daughter was seen in a promotional video for Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair shopping centre wearing a Scanlan Theodore floral maxi dress.

However, as she arrived at the mall in a black SUV, the hem of her dress accidentally got caught in the passenger door.

And it’s not the only time the royals have suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a public outing.

From tags left on outfits to the wind causing havoc with dresses, here are the down-to-earth moments which remind us the royals are just human at the end of the day…

In October 2018 during the final day of her New Zealand tour, the Duchess of Sussex wore a gorgeous pleated skirt by Givenchy.

However, her outfit was a lot more revealing than she may have anticipated as it proved to be completely sheer in certain lighting.

Luckily she had a pair of rather large knickers on underneath, saving her from any further embarrassment.

These days sheer has become quite a trend, so maybe she was just ahead of the curve.

While visiting New Dehli, India, and honouring the 70,000 soldiers who died fighting for the British Army, Kate battled with the breezy weather.

During a wreath-laying at India Gate, a sudden gust of wind caught her gorgeous £2.4k dress.

Kate tried her best to keep her composure and struggled to control the white frock.

Only the Princess of Wales could wear a designer top backwards and it looks better than before.

We previously saw Kate put her unique spin on a Gucci silk crepe blouse in a gorgeous purple shade.

While the buttons were supposed to be worn down the back, Kate opted to wear them in front, creating a new look.

Fergie’s hat

Sarah, Duchess of York, found out exactly what can go wrong when you are wearing a hat in strong winds.

In 1989, Fergie was preparing to board a flight to Canada with Prince Andrew, when the black accessory blew away.

Thankfully, Sarah handled the situation well and it became a humourous part of the official tour.

The Princess of Wales even looked elegant as she had a heely bad footwear fail[/caption]

Just like the rest of us, Princess Kate isn’t immune to the odd heel footwear fail.

During a visit to an addiction centre in Essex, the down-to-earth royal was left in hysterics after her heel got caught in a metal grate.

Despite the mini blunder, Kate remained calm and collected, as staff watched her skillfully weave the heel out – all while heavily pregnant.

After shrugging off the slightly embarrassing moment, the Princess carried on with her royal duties wearing a posh £660 coat.

Kate’s non-slip tights could be seen in her stiletto shoes[/caption]

Kate spends hours on her feet in stilettos but has a very handy trick for ensuring that she never slips out her shoes.

A few years ago, the royal mum-of-three accidentally revealed sticky pads inside her shoes, which helped to secure her inside her heels – genius!

And the best part is that the product won’t break the bank.

You can buy the must-have, non-slip tights from John Lewis for just £7, and they come in nude, black or natural shades.

Meghan’s tag

One fashion mishap Meghan suffered onTonga tour in 2018 was when she stepped out in a red Self-Portrait dress.

While the dress may have been lovely on, she forgot one key detail – the tag, which read: “Returns will only be accepted if this tag remains attached.”

Sticking out at the bottom of the dress it was visible for all to see, if she wanted to return to the store after she might have tried to hide it a bit better.

He may be the future King, but even Prince William seemingly wears shoes with a hole in on occasion.

During his 2019 interview with Sir David Attenborough at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he crossed his leg and exposed one of his soles.

The shoe appeared heavily worn, but some fans speculated that it could have been a piece of black tape.

Prince Harry also had his own holey shoe as he attended the wedding of pal Charlie van Straubenzee in 2018.

It didn’t ruin the day, however, as Harry charmed guests with this best man speech, as he was accompanied by Meghan in a Club Monaco dress.

Camilla’s skirt

Queen Camilla experienced her own Marilyn Monroe moment and she struggled to keep her Bruce Oldfield skirt down at Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015.

The wife of King Charles unfortunately got caught by a large gust of wind as she turned up at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

Clutching onto her hat, she successfully maintained her dignity – just – and laughed off the incident as she greeted the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Queen’s stained dress

The late Queen always looked pristine during royal events, apart from one uncharacteristic soiree.

In 2010, the monarch was attending the 70th birthday of King Constantine of Greece, in London, and her pastel dress was photographed stained with food.

The Daily Mail later claimed it was a “coffee spillage” done by a member of the waiting staff.

In addition to her dress, her glittery bag was seen with a broken strap.

The late Princess Diana was known as a fashion icon around the world, and many people still copy her iconic looks.

However, they may think twice about wearing a skirt that Diana was photographed in during 1981.

During a photoshoot at the nursery she worked in, the sun came out midway through, making her skirt appear see-through.

Diana, who was 19 at the time, was said to be horrified.

Kate Middleton's love of recycling clothes

KATE Middleton might be a Princess, but that certainly doesn't stop her from rewearing her favourite frocks.

Jenny Packham Gown: She first worn the frock to an ARK Gala Dinner in June 2011, and then rewore it three years later to the National Portrait Gallery in February 2014.

Alexander McQueen Coat Dress: Kate donned the beautiful number for Trooping the Colour in June 2016 and then just a year later, was spotted in it again for the Easter Service, in April 2017.

Temperley London Dress: She first wore the black lace dress at the War Horse Premiere, in January 2012, but then, just months later, donned it again, at the St. Andrews University Gala, in December 2012.

Hobbs Coat: Even Kate is a fan of a staple coat, as she’s reworn a classic number from Hobbs, which she first wore on Christmas Day in December 2012, and then again on a visit to Newcastle, in October 2013.

Kate Middleton’s sartorial choices continue to inspire many, proving that elegance and sustainability can go hand in hand.

But they split just weeks later and last night it was revealed Samie has stormed the villa to turn some heads.

Speaking after their split, Tom – who won last year’s All Stars with Molly Smith – admitted it would be difficult to see Samie after “things were said”.

He confessed: “We haven’t seen each other in a long time and things have been said. It would be difficult seeing her.

“Although we might have argued a bit, she’s got a good heart and I haven’t got a bad way to say about her.”

And at the time of their break-up insiders told how the distance between them made the relationship too hard to continue.

A source said: “There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn’t going anywhere.

“The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.”

Last year The Sun revealed Samie was in a relationship with former Towie star Harry Lee.

But they split just months later, with Samie wiping him from her social media.

A source said: “In recent months they have grown apart and decided it was better to remain friends.

“They tried their best to make things work but some things just aren’t meant to be.”

And Samie has revealed which All Stars boy she’s got her eye on.

When asked who she hopes to strike up a romance with, she replied: “Luca,” adding, “I feel like he’s very much a bit of me looks wise and watching him on this series, I like that he’s in touch with his emotional side.”

I found out my husband was cheating on a cleaning tips thread – my sheets, phone charger & even CAT were changing colour

A WOMAN discovered her husband’s dirty secret after asking for advice to get stains out.

The woman had noticed items in her home, and even her cat turning green and was left wondering why.

One offhand comment on the staining led to her finding out about her husband’s affair[/caption]

She decided to take to Reddit asking for cleaning advice on where the green stains came from and how to get rid of them.

She said: “Everything in my house is turning green… at first it was just my cat, and then it became my bedsheets, my feet (which then stained my shoes and socks), my couch, my phone charger, and now my wall.

“I don’t know what it is. I have no idea where to post this but I’m wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it or what it is?”

At first, she thought it could be her laundry detergent as the liquid inside her pods was green but soon realised that wasn’t the case.

“At first I thought mold but now I’m thinking maybe my laundry detergent pods which are green,” she continued.

“But I did a test wash and dry and it didn’t stain my clothes until I wore them for a few hours around the house before it turned green.”

Baffled by everything changing colour, she took to the subreddit, Cleaning Tips, with pictures of the stains.

Many people commented, offering suggestions for the stain’s source – including the cats getting into a mysterious green material, her furniture, or even a medical complication.

The woman revealed that she tracked her cats’ movements, took them to the vet, flipped her furniture, had her water and AC checked, had someone check for mould, changed her bedding and even consulted her doctor — to no avail.

She noted that things were mainly turning green in her bedroom, but still had no idea how.

She went investigating and found her partner seeing a woman who wore blue jeans[/caption]

“I gotta find out what it is,” she insisted as she continued her investigation.

Eventually, an offhand remark from a fellow Reddit user cracked the case, despite it being a joke.

They suggested that the discoloration could be caused by a new pair of jeans because “they stain everything.”

Blue jeans can cause dye transfer and be tough to get rid of.

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.  You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere.  Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime.  A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.

However, the woman quickly rejected the theory, claiming that neither she nor her husband wear jeans.

“Imagine discovering his affair with an Old Navy-wearing woman this way – from the cat turning green!” someone commented.

Unfortunately, the situation turned out to be true as the wife continued to dig for information.

“I hate to break it to you but … you were … right on the nose with this comment,” she responded.

The wife explained that she “nervously laughed” and checked her joint bank account for any Old Navy purchases — admitting she’d been left with a “strange feeling” after reading the comment.

“I’ve already had suspicions on a possible affair from the multiple last-minute overtime shifts and just overall changes in behavior. Also, my husband has cheated before so I’ve always been a bit anxious,” she shared.

As she spiralled, she checked her husband’s phone and discovered “some sexy Instagram DMs from a woman who wears jeans.”

That was enough.

“So anyway I’ve spent the last week at my parents with my cat,” she updated readers — with limited details as to how the whole situation played out.

“He has been served papers,” she revealed.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

And to layer up when the temperature drops in the evening, shoppers can pick up a must-have jacket also on shelves.

The Gallery Alexa Leopard Print Padded Jacket is available in stores and online now.

The retailer said: “This trend-forward bomber jacket from Gallery boasts a padded texture with classic quilted stitching.

“Gallery is available exclusively at Dunnes Stores.”

Jamison Gibson-Park warns ‘classy’ Scotland capable of beating Ireland as they look to end eight year Six Nations streak

JAMISON GIBSON-PARK knows Scotland would love to knock Ireland off their perch to establish their own title credentials.

But the scrum-half insisted having a target on their backs is nothing new.

Ireland have not lost to Scotland since the hosts beat them 27-22 at Murrayfield in 2017, a defeat then-coach Joe Schmidt blamed, in part, on the late arrival of the team bus.

No  2-ranked Ireland have switched coaches since with Andy Farrell replacing Schmidt after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Simon Easterby is now in interim charge while the Englishman focuses on the Lions.

But — having overseen that victory in his first game in charge — Scotland supremo Gregor Townsend has suffered ten straight defeats against Ireland.

And Gibson-Park accepts the Scot and his players will be keen to change the record.

The scrum-half said: “That’s the case for a lot of teams now. We’ve kind of been near enough to the top of the rankings for a while.

“I know myself that if I’m coming up against a quality side you want to put your best performance out there. Next week will be no different.”

Scotland view themselves as potential champions and the Leinster star agreed: “One hundred per cent. They’re a classy side.

“They’re playing good footie and they’re stacked full of really good individuals, so it will be a tough challenge. I know it’s been a long time since they won but there’s no reason they can’t.

“But what a place to go and what an opportunity for us to go there and have a crack at them.”

Gibson-Park made his mark in Ireland’s opener against England with his performance earning him the player-of-the-match award, as he linked up with fellow New Zealand import James Lowe — who had just returned from injury — particularly well.

And the 32-year-old took satisfaction from the way in which Ireland bounced back after a subdued first-half display to collect a bonus-point victory. He said: “Things might not be going our way, but we just have to be process-driven.

“We were reeling a little bit in the first half but to be able to swing it around in the second half and play some good footie, I think, pleasing. Long may it continue.

“Just a few bits of accuracy were costing us as well as good pressure from England. We didn’t have to change a whole lot.

“It was just a few passes stuck a bit better in the second half and we were able to get into some nice shape with some nice tries being scored.

“We were all a bit frustrated after November. We obviously won three out of four games but we didn’t feel as though we got much going.

“The second half was pleasing. There’s still loads to work on. We probably should have scored more points in the first half but plenty to look at next week.

“James hasn’t played a lot of footie so that’s pretty awesome to come out on the big occasion and have a game like that. Fair dues to him.”

‘SERIOUS PLAYER’

Although replacement Jack Crowley probably emerged better from the match than Sam Prendergast, who started, Gibson-Park is a big fan of the 21-year-old.

He said: “You’ve got a serious player on your hands. I thoroughly enjoy playing with him. He’s so calm under pressure. The first half wasn’t really going our way but we were able to swing things around.

“He’s a serious operator. He’s been very lucky to be able to come through the system and he’s trained against some quality teams in Leinster. When he wasn’t playing, he was able to train and we saw his game developing, which is the sign of a quality player.”

Along with Crowley, fellow replacements Dan Sheehan and Jack Conan made a big impact off the bench.

And Gibson-Park said: “It’s awesome, isn’t it? You get a massive lift. Seeing Sheeno and Jack on the bench you know we’re going to be finishing the game well.”

TRE Lowe, AKA Paul Akabah, is a former dance musician and finalist on The Apprentice.

The star will be returning to the BBC reality show to help the new batch of contestants create a new pop anthem.

Becoming a star

Tre was born on January 1, 1975, and overcame a series of hardships at a young age.

Although he continues to suffer from tinnitus and derealisation, he recovered from double paralysis at the age of 15.

The star rocketed to fame when he founded the acclaimed band Architechs with his brother.

Originally, the group was a trio composed of Tre, Kevin Williams and Ashley Akabah.

They remixed songs by Usher, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beanie Man, but had their biggest hit with Body Groove in 2000.

Sadly, the group disbanded after Ashley passed away in Notting Hill, February 2, 2020, and Tre’s tinnitus became too severe to perform.

Speaking about his creative personality, Tre shared that he thinks he is really just a “super-geek”.

He said: “I have proven success.

“People think I am a cool dude.

“But underneath all of that, I am a super-geek.

“One of my dreams as a child was to be in those big red Britannica Encyclopaedia volumes, alongside the likes of Galileo, Newton, and Tesla.

“Total super nerd.

“Still cool though.”

Meeting Lord Sugar

Tre experienced a second wind in his career when he appeared on the BBC’s hit reality show The Apprentice in 2024.

The star had previously met Lord Sugar at a party in 2014, where he was pictured with the business mogul as well as X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

He made it to the interview week of the competition but was unable to convince Alan Sugar to invest in him.

Returning to The Apprentice

Tre will return to The Apprentice for its 2025 series to help the new batch of entrepreneurs create a new pop song.

The star took to Instagram to announce his return.

He said: “Buzzing for this episode! This time last year, I was in the boardroom as a contestant.

“Now I’m back mentoring the next wave of entrepreneurs, showing them how to craft a hit song and step up under pressure.

“What makes this moment even more special? Doing it in the year of the 25th anniversary of Body Groove, a track that changed everything for me.

“To come full circle, sharing my music knowledge and mentoring these candidates as they navigate the competition, is an absolute privilege.

“But this isn’t just about music, it’s about resilience, creativity, and stepping outside your comfort zone.

“Whether it’s crafting a song or building a business, success comes down to vision, execution, and belief.”

Tre will appear in the February 6, 2025, episode of The Apprentice.
