I’m an interior designer and there’s a TV error that gives ‘skipping leg day at the gym’ effect – we call it ‘big back’

TWO interior design pros have revealed the home trends they can’t stand, and it’s bad news if you’ve made a certain TV mistake.

Robert Gigs and Ethan Gaskill have made a name for themselves on social media thanks to their viral videos sharing the trends they can’t stand.

Your TV should never be bigger than the console it’s on or mounted above, the pair said[/caption]

In a recent video the pair slated a popular some popular furniture trends that make any home looks tacky.

First up, having a large flatscreen TV isn’t always a winner, especially if the console below it is smaller than the TV itself, the pair explained.

Although Ethan confessed he’s been guilty of this mistake in the past, it’s a big no-no if it can be avoided.

“You don’t want to be the person who never does leg day at the gym and that’s what this looks like,” Robert joked.

And it’s not just TVs that give this “big back” effect, they noted.

Mirrors and art work on the wall should also never be bigger than the chest of drawers or console table below them.

It’s not just about size either, the pair added.

If you want your home to look luxurious you should make sure you mount your TV at the right height – having it too high, or even too low, won’t just hurt your neck but make your space look off-putting.

Next up on the pair’s list of interior design icks was a simple mistake many people are also guilty of, and that’s printing family photos onto large canvases.

The idea might be nice, but ultimately they can look cheap and blowing the pictures up to such a large size can make them look blurry too.

Robert said: “I don’t want to be at your house with your middle aged father staring at me while I’m laying on the sofa.

“I never think they’re tasteful, they’re usually blown up on canvas with no frame, which is the worst offender of them all.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t keep sentimental photos around your home – just avoid the large, pixelated canvases.

Instead, the duo suggested buying frames for you pictures, rather than making them so big.

After sharing the home icks on TikTok many people agreed, and one person commented: “I feel the same about family pictures.

“We got married last year and although frames it was giving shrine, so now they’re in the bedroom and just one is on the main floor.”

A second agreed: “So glad I’m not the only one who thinks blown up on family photos on canvas are weird!

“I just have a few photos of my daughter sprinkled around the house in cute frames.”

“Oh I HATE when people have ugly gallery walls with canvas photos, so, so bad,” another said.

And as for the TV slander, one said: “Everyone makes fun of my small TV, now I’m just gonna show them this video.”

And someone else said: “I feel like having a large TV as a focal point of the room in general is an ick.”

“Huge TVs are one of my biggest icks too,” another chimed in.

Tommy Fury’s HUGE seven figure salary revealed as he rakes in cash after Molly Mae split

The star’s earnings were not affected by his split from Molly-Mae

Tommy was proudly banking a staggering £16,429 a day last year thanks to his slew of endorsement deals and his professional boxing career.

Overall, the former Love Island alum was sitting on top of an eye-watering £6.1million profit thanks to his income last year.

His company Tommy Fury TNT Ltd recorded the huge figures as a result of his boxing bouts with both KSI and Jake Paul as well as through a series of big-money brand partnerships.

These figures show that Tommy has dwarfed the yearly income of former partner Molly-Mae – thought to be worth around £4million.

Tommy also has another firm Fury TNT, which has £258k in reserves but didn’t generate a profit last year.

These figures are likely to put a spring in the boxer’s step amid his relationship woes being played out publicly.

Tommy and Molly called it quits last summer shocking fans.

Since then, they have been plagued by reunion rumours and were even spotted kissing at a New Year’s Eve bash in exclusive pictures obtained by The Sun.

Molly also discussed the fall-out from the break-up on her recent tell-all Prime Video series, Behind It All.

However, they recently held separate birthday parties for their beloved daughter Bambi amid the reunion rumours.

In Molly-Mae’s candid documentary Behind It All, her sister Zoe advises her to cut ties with Tommy to move on.

She says in the show: “I’m sad for you but you have to go through it and it’s hell and that’s what makes me sad – you want to be with 50 per cent of Tommy but you don’t want to be with the other 50 per cent of him.”

Zoe also tells her heartbroken sibling: “The last two months you’ve been happier and nicer to be around because you’ve not got the stressors that come along with being with him.”

Timeline of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury's split

After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split up in August 2024.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy suffer an explosive showdown and Molly-Mae announces her split from fiancé Tommy Fury, saying ‘ I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way’.

An hour later Tommy shares a separate and brief statement confirming they have parted ways, and thanks Molly-Mae for making him ‘a dad’.

The real reason they split emerges and on Thursday, August 15 The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae learned Tommy had cheated on her – leading to an explosive showdown.

On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae had been sent an upsetting video showing Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia on a lads holiday.

Exactly one week after the split a Danish woman accused of getting close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies she is the girl who kissed Tommy.

Powerful “Kitchen Sink” Storm Hitting This Week—What to Expect in Your Region

Punxsutawney Phil was right: Winter is far from over. This week, the WBZ Weather Team at CBS News released a NEXT Weather Alert for a "kitchen sink" storm that will bring snow, ice, and rain to much of the Midwest and Northeast. This system is the first of three winter storms that are expected to make landfall over the next 10 days, in addition to the West’s forecasted flash floods. There’s a lot happening, so see how your region will be impacted below.

RELATED: Meteorologists Are Predicting a "Snow Drought" This Winter—Is Your Region Affected?

Winter Storm Freya is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.

Winter Storm Freya, a "wintry mess of ice and snow," will touch down in the Midwest, Great Lakes, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast by Wednesday night, reports The Weather Channel. The atmospheric system is expected to bring freezing rain, sleet, and light snowfall (an average of three inches) and, in some regions, a combination of all three.

North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and eastern Pennsylvania have the highest probability of snow between now and Thursday.

Most states will see a maximum of three to five inches of snow, while some areas (like upstate New York) could get up to eight. However, meteorologists say it’s also likely that snow will turn into a wintry mix with rain for folks from New York City to Boston.

Ice storms are also of concern, especially in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, the Great Lakes region, and the mid-Atlantic. In the next 72 hours, central Pennsylvania and Baltimore have a "high" probability of getting close to an inch of ice, per The Weather Channel. This will make for "hazardous travel," so be sure to check your local radar for traffic updates.

Meanwhile, an atmospheric river developing in the West will bring snow to the mountains and heavy rainfall. The Sierra Nevadas could get up to eight feet of snow, with flurries falling at "rates near two inches per hour," reports The Washington Post. This storm will affect southern Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and northwestern Wyoming.

Pouring rain has prompted officials to release a flood watch alert for central California and Sacramento Valley.

A second storm will hit the Midwest and Northeast this weekend.

As Winter Storm Freya clears out, a second storm will take its place with a similar impact. Details are still developing, but The Weather Channel forecasts "snow and a stripe of ice" across the upper Midwest and Great Lakes to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Saturday.

Come Sunday, heavy snowfalls are predicted in upstate New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, the Great Lakes, and parts of Massachusetts. But again, the storm could lose momentum and bring in more rain than snow or ice in some areas.

The good news is this system is "a quick-mover," so it’ll be over just as fast as it started.

A third storm could develop early next week.

More snow and ice could be headed our way next week, though only time will tell.

"Long-term computer model forecast guidance is hinting this active winter storm pattern might persist in the Midwest and East next week. That means one or more rounds of additional snow and ice are possible, but it's too early for details," reads a report from The Weather Channel.
