Dunnes Stores chose to pair the jumper with the Gallery Power Stretch Trouser, which is also available online and in stores.

Dunne’s bosses said: “This knit jumper from Gallery showcases a bold zebra pattern in a contrasting colourway.

“It features a round neck and classic ribbed trims.

“Perfect for pairing with your favourite denim for a casual look or tailored trousers for the office.”

Meanwhile, Dunnes Stores shoppers are also set for a frenzy over a must-have cardigan that has hit the shelves.

The Savida City Girl Bow Cardigan comes in two colour options, including a cool deep burgundy and a pristine white.

Both the burgundy and white cardigans have two black bows at the top for fastening.

They also feature a sleek black lining around the edges.

And it’s a bargain, costing just €25.

The cardigan comes in sizes XXS to XXL, but it is set to fly off the shelves.

In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion chiefs wrote: “From Savida, this classic cardigan is elevated by two self-tie bows at the neck and chest, adding a bold, feminine touch.

“Finished with a contrasting striped trim and ribbed texture, it’s an essential for your wardrobe.

“Savida is available exclusively at Dunnes Stores.”

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

Just like Nicole Kidman in Babygirl I love younger men – I’ve dated lads younger than my sons & don’t care if I’m judged

DATING younger men has always been a bit of a taboo topic, but as far as Tara Gen is concerned it’s more common than people realise.

Despite being in her fifties, the self-confessed cougar has previously dated men younger than her sons, who are 30 and 24.

She hinted that relationships like Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson’s in Babygirl are more common than people think[/caption]

Now, in the wake of the new erotic thriller Babygirl, which stars Nicole Kidman as a high-powered businesswoman who begins an affair with a 20-something intern, played by Harris Dickson, Tara has hinted that more women lust after younger men than most people realise.

Posting on TikTok, Tara, who is an ex-Mormon, shared a clip of her slowly dancing to George Michael’s Father Figure, much like Harris Dickinson’s character in the film’s many raunchy scenes.

“Why y’all acting like this is a new phenomenon?” she wrote over the viral video, suggesting more women want a younger man to boss them around in the bedroom than might be willing to admit it.

“Is this surprising? I think not,” she added.

Tara hasn’t always been so outspoken about her relationships with younger men, and previously confessed she likes to keep flings “on the down low”.

She’s even gone so far as to make sure she’s not friends with the parents of her romantic partners because of the notable age gap.

But it’s not a husband she’s after- she simply wants to have fun with her young lovers.

Her admission came after someone commented on a previous video and wrote: “For the young guys, just hit and run. These women are damaged goods.”

But the gran had no time for haters and explained that she’s not looking for love.

In fact, it’s the men who keep chasing her.

“Strangely enough, I can’t get rid of them once I’ve dated them they won’t go away,” she said.

Tara explained she can tell if she’s going to hit it off with someone instantly, but they often get the wrong impression and she ends up having to break it off with them.

She confessed she doesn’t want to waste her time with someone she’s not compatible with, unlike the younger men she dates.

She previously told The US Sun she’s making up for lost time, since she was busying raising kids when her peers were dating and having fun.

“I didn’t get to go through the fun 20s,” she said.

“People think cougars run through young men and I don’t. It takes a while to find one that is compatible with me.”

While bored and stuck in the house during the onset of the pandemic, like many others, she dabbled with making TikToks.

“It kinda put me in the MILF category,” she said.

“I noticed people who followed were younger and were in the 20 to 30 age range and was kinda shocked by that.”

This led her to be one of the prime faces of “CougarTok” and gave her the ability to monetize her good looks and assets.

“I was shocked by the crazy amount of money people can make online,” she said.

Match of the Day host leads fan fury at Lewis-Skelly red card as even ex-Tottenham star slams ‘worst decision ever’

MARK CHAPMAN led fury and amazement from fans as Miles Lewis-Skelly was sent off after one of the “worst decisions ever”.

The Arsenal midfielder was just outside his own area when he cynically tripped  Wolves defender Matt Doherty and saw red.

Puzzled viewers at first wondered if Lewis-Skelly was dismissed for denying a clear scoring chance – even though it was so far out.

But a Premier League statement later clarified VAR had checked for “serious foul play” – with referee Michael Oliver’s decision upheld.

Chapman, who will share duties as BBC Match of the Day host, called the decision “baffling and nonsensical from supposedly one of our best referees.”

Beeb 5Live pundit Pat Nevin said labelling such a challenge serious foul play was setting “a bar so low even a limbo dancing snake couldn’t get under it”.

And one fan posted: “I’m all for Arsenal having a beast but that is never ever a red card, one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen.”

Urgent alert for thousands of commuters as Irish Rail warn of disruption due to Storm Eowyn

AN URGENT warning has been issued for thousands of commuters – as many routes are experiencing some disruption due to the impact of Storm Eowyn.

As many public transport services are slowly resuming operations across the country, Irish Rail services have resumed, but some routes remain closed or delayed.

Storm Eowyn has caused catastrophic damage across the country, bringing down trees and powerlines.

Thousands of households across the country are still without power and water supplies.

After the red warnings were lifted, many people were itching to get their weekend back on track after being derailed by the disruptive weather event.

Several Irish Rail routes have reopened after the weather event, but significant disruption remains due to power outages or damage to the tracks.

The affected rail services are:

  • Westport/Ballina to Heuston
  • Connolly to Belfast
  • Sligo to Connolly

Due to the disruption, bus transfers are in place but they are currently limited.

No bus transfers are operating from Enfield/Kilcock.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail revealed that the disruption is mainly due to “a major power outage from Storm Eowyn”.

They stated that it is affecting the operation and monitoring of automatic level crossings on both routes, as well as fallen trees remaining on the Sligo/Westport lines.

Despite most Irish Rail services operating again, customers are reminded that the Dublin’s Connolly to Drogheda/Howth line is closed for planned rail works.

This means that the Northside DART, Northern Commuter and Dublin/Belfast services are currently not operating for the weekend and will resume on Monday.

Customers are urged not to undertake any travel without checking that services are operational; this can be done on the Irish Rail website or their social media pages for updates.

Affected customers with bookings will be automatically refunded.

DUBLIN AIRPORT CHAOS

Elsewhere, holidaymakers heading to Dublin Airport have faced some “mayhem” due to a road closure after the Terminal 2 facade was damage during Storm Eowyn yesterday.

Ireland’s top airport was severely hit by the storm, with flights in and out of the capital severely impacted.

But despite Storm Eowyn passing passengers were still being hit by travel chaos as traffic to parts of Dublin Airport was at a “standstill”.

Dublin Airport announced that due to Storm Eowyn damage, the underpass road leading to Terminal 1 Departures and the T1 short-term car park was closed.

The closure affected the main route to Terminal 1, but diversions were in place to ensure passengers can still access both T1 and the car park.

Airport officials confirmed that the road has reopened this morning, so the disruption for passengers should be short-lived.

Two PSNI officers injured after ‘suspected stolen vehicle’ rammed in Newry as cops issues urgent plea

TWO members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland have been injured after their vehicle was rammed in Newry, Co Down.

The shocking incident occurred in the Belfast Road area at around 11:20pm on Friday, January 24.

The cops were alerted to a “suspected stolen vehicle” which was parked in the forecourt of a garage in the area, where the car was used as a weapon against them.

The officers attempted to speak with the occupants of the car, where the “driver accelerated and collided” with one of the vehicles, which caused extensive damage and injures to the two officers inside.

It was reported that the suspected stolen car was a blue Mazda Demio, which was later located in the Bessbrook area.

Inspector Alastair MacDonald said: “Two call signs attended, and when officers attempted to speak with the occupants, the driver accelerated and collided with one of the vehicles, causing extensive damage and injuries to the two officers inside.

“The suspected stolen car, a blue Mazda Demio, was later located in the Bessbrook area.

“This vehicle was, in effect, used as a weapon against our officers. It is unacceptable that those working to keep their community safe should be targeted in this way.

“We’re thankful that our colleagues don’t appear, at this stage, to have suffered significant injury, but the outcome could have been much worse.”

The officers’ vehicle “sustained such significant damage” that it had to be recovered from the scene and will be off the road for repairs.

Mr MacDonald added that the vehicle being damage “impacts on the local community”.

He stated: “Those responsible should expect to be brought before the courts to face the consequences of their actions.”

The Police Service of Northern Ireland are currently appealing for information, including dashcam or other footage to make available for the cops as they investigate the incident.

This can be done by calling 101, quoting reference 2932 of 24/1/25.

ANOTHER POLICE VEHICLE RAMMED

In a separate incident, a second police vehicle was rammed by a silver van in the Dobsons Way of Bessbrook, just after 2:30am this morning.

Fortunately for the officers, there were no reports of any injuries or severe damage caused to the police vehicle.

He added: “Thankfully, there are no reports of any injuries, or any serious damage to the police vehicle.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information that could assist us to contact 101, quoting reference 142 of 25/1/25.”

Alternatively, both reports can be submitted online by using their non-emergency reporting form.

This can be found on www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
