Pointless star Richard Osman picks Stephen Hendry as one of four COOLEST people on Earth.. leaving co-host stunned

RICHARD OSMAN has sparked a hostile online debate – after declaring Stephen Hendry among an elite list.

The Pointless host named the snooker legend among the world’s four “coolest” people.

Hendry is one of the snooker’s most successful ever players, winning his first world title aged 21 in 1990.

The Scot won a total of 36 ranking titles – but was never known for his exuberance on or off the baize.

That doesn’t appear to be a problem for Osman, who joined journalist Marina Hyde on their podcast The Rest Is Entertainment.

The pair discussed “cool” celebrities – and Osman brought up The King of the Crucible.

He said: “I’ve got the name Stephen Hendry written down here.”

Hyde immediately replied: “You haven’t, have you?!”

Osman went on: “He’s cool because he’s completely different to how you think he’s going to be.

“He comes across different to how you’d expect on TV.”

But Hyde was having none of it, later writing on X: “I remain STUNNED at Richard’s suggestions of who is cool, and by extension how he defines cool (or rather, doesn’t).

“The fact that the words “Stephen Hendry” were anywhere near this conversation is abysmal.”

One listener laughed in response: “I’m mostly on Richard’s side but totally with you on Hendry- No!!”

Another said: “Yup. You are completely right. Richard is confusing being ‘a great guy/girl who has nailed life’ with cool.”

And a third added: “It was a great episode. Frankly, I’m more with you on this. Hendry! Goodness me.”

While a fourth countered: “Now Jimmy White would have been on that list.”

Hendry, 56, retired from professional snooker for a second time last year after suffering from a persistent wrist problem.

He has since worked as a pundit for the BBC – but was unexpectedly absent for the Welsh Open earlier this month.

Hendry admits he has been left in the dark over his snub for the tournament in Llandudno.

He discussed his absence in the latest episode of his Snooker Club podcast with pal Mark Watson.

The pair made light of the situation as they joked about Hendry’s “demands.”

Hendy first said: “I don’t do the BBC’s Welsh Open, I don’t know why I don’t get the call.”

Watson laughed: “Your demands are enormous. You don’t just go to North Wales for anyone.”

James Bye played Martin for a decade before he was killed off in the live episode to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the BBC One soap.

Martin was the first baby born on EastEnders, but he will soon be laid to rest in a poignant moment for the long-running fans.

Now, his niece will once again appear on Albert Square for his funeral, but she will come with a surprising new family in tow.

When Vicki last appeared on the soap in 2004, she was played by actress Scarlett Alice Johnson.

Now, Alice Haig will take up the role when the character makes her return to Walford.

For the first time in over 20 years, she’s set to attend her Uncle’s funeral, as she brings her new boyfriend Ross and his son Joel with her.

Fans took to social media, appearing disappointed that bosses chose to recast the role.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Man, I don’t know about the Vicki recast, will have to see about this.”

A second stated: “I didn’t even realise that it’s Vicki Fowler (another recast).”

“I feel the time it wrong for Vicki especially as a recast, she should have been brought back either when Michelle was brought back & recast or when Denny died to support Sharon with a Vicki recast why couldn’t they do the same for spence as original actor definitely won’t be back”, commented a third user.

While a fourth raged: “I cannot believe the legendary Vicki Fowler has been recast.”

“Gutted they recast Vicki Fowler,” posted someone else.

And a sixth fan added: “Really upset they made the choice now to bring back Vicki and especially to recast.”

Vicki caused controversy on the square from day one of her life as the love child of teen mum Michelle Fowler and Dirty Den Watts,

EastEnders' 40th anniversary cameos so far

With the 40th anniversary of EastEnders coming up, fans are looking forward to some more incredible cameos from iconic faces of Walford's past. But who have we had so far?

Tracy-Ann Oberman – Oberman returned as Chrissie Watts, a character she last played nearly two decades ago.

Paul Bradley – Bradley returned as Nigel Bates, a character he last played over 25 years ago.

Micheal French – French returned as David Wicks, a character he last played two decades ago.

Patsy Palmer – Palmer returned as Bianca Jackson, a character she last played in 2019.

Ricky Groves – Groves returned as Garry Hobbs, a character who has not been seen since 2009.

Cliff Parisi – Parisi returned as Minty Peterson, a character who was last seen on the square in 2010.

Ross Kemp – Kemp has returned to play Grant Mitchell, a character he first played in 1990. The BBC has described Kemp’s storyline as “explosive”. Kemp said it was an “absolute honour” to return to the show.

Other aspects of the EastEnders 40th anniversary celebration include: A wedding between fan favorites, A huge explosion at the Queen Vic, and A live interactive episode.

Since leaving the Square in 2004, it was thought that Vicki has been living in Australia with Spencer Moon where they ran a bar.

So, when she arrives in Walford with a new man on her arm, it will come as a shock to both sister Sharon and Spencer’s brother Alfie, who had no idea they had split.

TESCO has discontinued a popular £1.95 breakfast staple in all of its stores.

One shopper in despair took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to question the disappearance of their much-loved cereal.

A shopper took to X to question where the Tesco and Kellogg’s Apricot Wheats disappeared to
tesco

The products in question are Tesco’s Apricot Wheats and the branded version from Kellogg’s, which are both small wholegrain wheat squares with a fruit-flavoured filling.

The shopper put the question to Tesco, explaining the cereals were missing from their local store.

They said: “For several weeks now you’ve had the other varieties but no Apricot wheats.

“First you took away the Honey Monster Puffs, and now this. This is at the Baldock superstore.”

Tesco then confirmed the cereal has indeed been discontinued.

A spokesperson said: “Hi there, the tesco apricot wheats cereal has been discontinued and is no longer ranged in any of our stores.

“I am so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Thanks, Amena – Customer Care.”

The shopper continued to clarify where exactly the Kellogg version is as Sainsbury’s still stocks them.

However, Tesco recommended they message the store privately and assured they would check in-store availability.

Kellogg’s is known for a range of cereal brands including Corn Flakes, Coco Pops, Frosties and Crunchy Nut.

However, the Kellogg’s Apricot version of the breakfast product is not currently available on the supermarket’s website.

But it is available online at Sainsbury’s, Asda and Ocado with prices ranging from £1.95 to £2.45 for the 500g box.

Tesco has been approached for a comment.
