In the world of courtroom dramas, Suits can definitely give all the other shows a run for their money. It took the world by storm when it was released in 2011, and since then, it has managed to break several records. Apart from boasting a huge fan following, the show also brought forth several notable actors into the spotlight. Patrick J. Adams absolutely aced his role as Michael Ross, a brilliant college dropout with a photographic memory.

While he conned his way into a top-tier law firm, his secret of practicing law without a proper degree was the central theme of the show. But now, a Reddit user has raised some logical points that might disrupt the entire storyline that Suits had brought forth.
Suits completely ignored the most obvious solution for Michael Ross
For nine long seasons, Suits was the go-to show for every courtroom drama fan. It brought the high stakes of the legal system out in the open with cases that grabbed everyone’s attention. At the forefront of the show was Michael Ross, played by the talented Patrick J. Adams. His character was the focal point of the show, revolving around how, despite being a college dropout, he managed to land a job at one of New York’s most prestigious law firms.

This happened despite the fact that he had never attended law school, and the show focused heavily on this secret. While his knowledge and talent were undeniable, the threat of exposure and ethical dilemmas always kept viewers on the edge of their seats. And without any proper credentials, his entire career rested on lies and deception.
But in the midst of this, one Reddit user pointed out that his entire struggle on the show seemed quite unnecessary.
Why didn’t Mike go to any other law school

Instead of going to such extreme lengths, he could have just gone to another law school and completed his education. In the show, the sequences imply that Harvard was his only shot at becoming a lawyer and that, after losing that opportunity, he had no other options left. According to the storyline, he was expelled from college because he was caught cheating.
But this alone wouldn’t have restricted him from ever pursuing a legal career. Instead of all the lies, he could have easily gone to a community college, aced the LSAT, and applied to any other law school. Even if he had financial issues, he could have taken a student loan like many aspiring lawyers do.
Of course, had this happened, Suits might not have existed in the first place. So, the creators likely used this plot point to deepen the storyline.
Why did Patrick J. Adams leave Suits after Season 7?
When it comes to Suits, Patrick J. Adams’s Michael Ross was one of the most important characters on the show. But after playing the role for seven years, the actor decided to step back and leave in 2018. This came as a shock to fans, who immediately started speculating about his decision.

On the subject, Adams opened up about his departure via Dinner’s on Me, revealing that it was due to his relationship with actress Troian Bellisario. For most of the show’s run, Adams and Bellisario were in a long-distance relationship. The couple tied the knot in 2016, but with their demanding filming schedules, they spent most of their time apart.
By the time the show reached its seventh season, he realized that it was time to take a step back and focus on his marriage. As for his character, Adams mentioned that he was happy with how Mike Ross’s story had run its course on the show.
