PRINCE Andrew told Jeffrey Epstein they should “keep in close touch” in an email – two months after he claimed he cut off contact with the paedo.
Bombshell court documents have revealed new details about the Duke’s friendship with the disgraced financier – and contradict the royal’s claims.
In his infamous car-crash Newsnight interview, Andrew, 64, claimed he severed ties with Epstein in December 2010.
He said he didn’t see or speak to Epstein after they were pictured strolling through Central Park in New York City shortly after the paedo was released from jail for child sex offences.
But emails disclosed in a filing by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) reveal he spoke to Epstein in February 2011.
In an email, he told Epstein: “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon.”
The emails have been exposed as the FCA defends an appeal by former Barclays Bank boss James Edward “Jes” Staley.
Banking chief Staley claimed he stopped direct contact with Epstein after joining Barclays in 2015.
But emails appear to show he was still in touch with the sex offender as late as December 2017.
The relationship with Epstein ultimately cost him his job as in 2023 he was fined £1.8 million for having “recklessly misled” regulators on his ties to the financier.
He was also banned from holding senior management positions in the financial services industry.
Emails previously revealed in 2023 also cast doubt on Andrew’s claims he cut Epstein off.
On February 28, 2011, Epstein wrote to Staley: “Andrew asked for your London schedule.”
Newly-released emails show Epstein emailed the Duke the day before to say: “Jes staley will be in London on next tue afternoon, if you have time”.
Andrew responded to clarify the date and added: “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon.”
The royal has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the Epstein scandal – claiming he knew nothing of his criminal behaviour.
Court documents revealed last year claimed Andrew had an “underage orgy” with staying on Epstein’s private island.
An unnamed Jane Doe – widely understood to be his accuser Virginia Giuffre – was allegedly “forced” by Epstein to “have sexual relations” with the Duke of York.
She was allegedly told to “give the Prince whatever he demanded”.
In 2022, Andrew settled a civil sex assault case with his accuser Virginia Giuffre – sparing him a humiliating court battle over claims he raped and abused her when she was 17.
During his Newsnight interview in 2019, Andrew told Emily Maitlis: “I ceased all contact with [Epstein] after I was aware that he was under investigation and that was later in 2006 and I wasn’t in touch with him again until 2010.”
When she asked him if there had been any contact, he again stated: “No contact.”
Maitlis added: “Did you see or speak to him again?”. Andrew said: “No.”
Police in Florida began investigating Epstein in 2006, before he was sentenced to 18 months in jail for soliciting a minor for prostitution two years later.
He was then found dead in his prison cell in a Manhattan jail in August 2019 as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges.
Late last year, the FBI’s investigation into Andrew and his friendship with Epstein was “parked”.
US cops paused their probe until “new evidence is presented that can move the case forward”.
YOUR latest iPhone update might have just eaten up 7GB worth of storage overnight.
Apple’s new AI-powered feature, Apple Intelligence, is switched on by default on all compatible devices in iOS 18.3.
It brings a bundle of new features, like a smarter Siri, custom emoji, message summaries and image generation.
But all those new features require more space on your phone – if your device is eligible.
Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Now, you can choose to disable Apple Intelligence entirely, and free up a whopping 7GB.
You can do this in Settings, by going to the new Apple Intelligence & Siri section.
From there, you can toggle off Apple Intelligence.
Doing so will prompt a confirmation, after which the system will remove nearly all AI features.
Although, some new AI tools like the Clean Up feature in the Photos app may remain available.
It’s an easy fix, that only takes a few seconds.
But if you want to make use of the new AI-powered features, then you may need a few extra storage tricks up your sleeve.
If you have apps that you rarely use but don’t want to delete permanently, you can offload them.
This means the app is removed but the documents and data are still intact – so it takes up less storage than a fully installed app.
Photos and videos can take up a significant amount of storage space.
But a nifty button in Settings can save the high-resolution versions of this media to iCloud.
They’re still on your device, but in a lower resolution until you click on them and load the high-res versions.
To optimise storage, enable the Optimise iPhone Storage option in Settings > Photos & Camera.
Over time, Safari accumulates cache – just like the internet browser on your PC or laptop does.
To clear this, simply follow these steps:
This will also remove offline reading list data and free up storage space.
Here are some of the best...
DAVID COULTHARD has proposed to his stunning model girlfriend who is 24 years his junior, it has been revealed.
The Formula One icon is said to have been enjoying some time in Mauritius with his significant other, Sigrid Silversand, when he popped the question.
Coulthard was first seen with the 29-year-old Swedish beauty in 2023.
The news only came to light after former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan let it slip during an interview earlier this week.
In his article on Boat international.com, Jordan said Coulthard, 53, popped the question during a romantic getaway.
He wrote: “I’ve got to send a very special congratulations to my old mate David Coulthard, who’s just run off to Mauritius and got engaged to a Swedish model 23 years his junior!
“She’s taller than him, which I like to remind him about as often as I can.”
According to the Daily Mail, 13-time F1 Grand Prix winner Coulthard “wasn’t nervous proposing” after four years together.
He is said to have acted as a “proper gentleman” when going about his preparation for the proposal.
Sigrid said: “It was a surprise as David is really good at hiding.

“He kept it a secret and asked my parents for permission to marry me.
“He’s a proper gentleman and there are only a few of them left.”
Coulthard split from Karen Minier after nine years of marriage in 2022.
A year later he was spotted hand-in-hand with his new flame Sigrid.
Last year Coulthard declared that doctors had named him in the top one per cent of males for sex drive.
However, elevated readings of testosterone in Coulthard can be put down to adrenaline levels from his motorsport career.
He also claimed to have been given a “glowing report” from his now-fiancee.
Coulthard said on the Formula For Success podcast: “I got a glowing report there and also a medical report.
“I had my testosterone checked and I am in the top one per cent of males apparently.
“One of the thoughts is that because of high levels of adrenaline through a sporting career then that sort of super charges the testosterone in the body. So no issues there.”
Coulthard lives in Monaco following retirement from professional racing in 2008.
CONOR Murray has revealed that he’ll be releasing an autobiography in September.
Now 35, he could well be entering his final Six Nations campaign this weekend.
The book will be published by Reach Sport.
Publicising the project, the veteran scrum-half emphasized: “I cannot wait for fans – and readers – to discover everything there is to know about what wearing the No.9 jersey has meant to me, how the journey has gone so far – and what comes next.”
“Playing rugby at the highest level has been the focus of my life for as long as I can remember.
“I have enjoyed many truly amazing and humbling moments, suffered my share of struggles but also had a career I can always be proud of.
“All the while, having my family and loved ones on this journey with me through the highs and lows has been very special.
“I have made friends for life with so many shared experiences that I’ll cherish.”
It’ll be ghostwritten by Tommy Conlon who earned widespread acclaim for the job he did with Keith Earls’ ‘Fight or Flight’ which is arguably the best Irish rugby book of recent times.
Murray has 103 caps for his country to go with 156 appearances for his province.
This year’s Six Nations is a novel one for him from the point of view that his longtime half-back partner Johnny Sexton is now a member of the coaching staff.
Speaking on the ‘For the Love of Rugby‘ podcast, he insisted it’s great to have him back in the squad as a mentor to Ireland’s young crop of fly-halves.
He laughed: “I don’t miss him screaming at me.
“I think I’ve won one argument out of the hundreds we’ve had on the pitch, and I had to be dead sure I was right.
“We’re great mates, he’s a legend of rugby.
“I think there’s pressure on the boys, [Sam] Prendergast, [Jack] Crowley and [Ciaran] Frawley, and whoever else gets a chance.
“The public will always be like, ‘Johnny would have done this, Johnny would have done that.’ which is a big pressure on their shoulders.
“They’re trying to be themselves. Johnny is in with us – he’s passing on knowledge and he gets involved.
“In November he got involved in a couple of training sessions and he still has that narkiness, giving it out to the lads – it doesn’t leave you.
‘So lads were giving him a few shoulders and stuff, so it was good to see – giving it to him.’
