THE mum of a teenager who died on a Scouts holiday has claimed the association are “still not facing the facts” over his death.
Ben Leonard, 16, suffered a serious head injury when he fell about 200ft at Great Orme in Llandudno, North Wales.

He died while on a trip with the Reddish Explorer Scouts from Stockport, Greater Manchester, on August 26, 2018.
Ben and two friends took a different path from other Scouts, unsupervised by any Scout leaders, who had “lost” the trio on the Orme.
Ben ended up on a 50cm ledge, which was an animal track, when he lost his footing, slipped and fell to his death.
Following a two-month inquest last year at Manchester Civil Courts of Justice, a jury found Ben was unlawfully killed by the most senior Scout leader on the trip, and an assistant Scout leader, and this was contributed to by neglect by The Scout Association.
The law prevents inquest juries from naming any individual in conclusions.
During the inquest, the Scout leader on the trip, Sean Glaister, declined to answer a series of questions from Ben Richmond KC, lawyer for Fieldfisher, the law firm representing Ben’s family.
Mary Carr was named as the assistant Scout leader on the trip.
David Pojur, assistant coroner for North Wales east and central, referred The Scout Association and an employee, who cannot be named by court order, to North Wales Police to investigate for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
But after the inquest, Mr Glaister and Ms Carr applied for a judicial review of the inquest findings of unlawful killing, heard at the High Court in Manchester in December.
On Thursday, Mr Justice Fordham ruled the coroner Mr Pojur had directed the jury fairly and correctly and rejected the appeal to review the inquest findings.
Ben’s mother, Jackie Leonard said: “We are just relieved it is now over and the judicial review failed.
“We need to try to move forward now but with Ben in our hearts always.”
At the beginning of the inquest last year, the third after two previous inquests were aborted, The Scout Association for the first time publicly apologised and accepted responsibility for Ben’s death.
The inquest also heard Ben’s family were lied to as The Scout Association was worried about “reputational damage”.
Ben’s family were told “people who try and take on the Scouts are never successful” and that “no-one can touch the Scouts”.
Ben’s mum Jackie told the Manchester Evening News the Scout leaders on the trip “don’t think they’ve done anything wrong”.
She said: “When they brought the review last year, we weren’t surprised the outcome was being challenged.
“They just don’t think they’ve done anything wrong, even now.
“It upsets me because they aren’t facing the facts that their actions led to his death. Even after the conclusion they were still adamant.”
Around 500,000 young people and 145,000 adult volunteers take part in Scouting projects and activities each week, according to the association’s own figures.

A WIFE left her husband over his ‘affair’ with his SISTER after discovering that she had sent him Valentine’s gifts.
The 43-year-old woman revealed that the uncomfortable situation – which included the sister walking around in her underwear – ultimately led to the end of her marriage.

The woman explained that even before they got married, there was a sense that “something was off” between her husband and his sister, but she couldn’t be certain.
Now, taking to the online forum Reddit, the woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is desperately seeking advice and asking others for their thoughts on the situation.
She explained that she dated her husband for two months, maintained a long-distance relationship for “about a year,” and then spent another year together in person before they got engaged.
The sister lived a few hours away at her husband’s parents’ house, and the woman had only visited his family a “handful of times” before their marriage.
Talking about the sister, the woman wrote: “She openly hated me – glaring at me across the room – and her jealousy was obvious.
“If my then-boyfriend put his arm around me, she would get up and leave the room in a huff.”
However, things became stranger when she realised her boyfriend wasn’t spending time with her and would even spend Valentine’s Day with his sister instead of logging on to a video chat with her.
She explained: “He didn’t log on to our video chat until very late – later than promised, almost midnight – and told me it had been ‘special’ to spend the day with someone who meant something special to him.
“When we were engaged, he told me he wanted me to plan and celebrate his birthday together with her.
“However, she then planned it alone, ignoring my attempts to collaborate, and didn’t invite me.
“He invited me at the last minute and told me to just ignore what she had done, to go easy on her and give her the benefit of the doubt instead of standing up to her and telling her not to treat me that way.
“He also frequently commented on her appearance, saying her legs were nice, that she wore just the right amount of makeup, that she was pretty, etc.
“He talked about her a lot when we were together. When he was around her, he often linked arms with her in my presence and even kneed her in the bum, which I found odd.”
The woman believed he had an “unhealthy relationship” with his sister and that “he wasn’t available to form his own family unit.”

She continued: “He even asked me if he could plan a weekend stay at a bed and breakfast with her (I said no).
“He told me they had done many weekend B&B stays, hikes, and mountain-biking trips together before he and I were married.

One such person who’s making a fortune with this arrangement is TikToker Jess who uses her ”pretty privilege” to attract men who want to spend on her.
According to the young beauty, she used to be ”the broke one” in her group of friends – however, now the tables have turned and she uses the cash to go on luxury solo trips around the world.
Jess, who calls herself ”spoiled princess”, she started chatting online with the wealthy blokes as a side hustle – but it’s since become a full 9-5 job.
The woman, who chats with the rich men on a site called Private Sugar Club, revealed that she’s never met any of them in person and they’ll happily pay for her ”lifestyle”.
In Jess’ eyes, ”love” doesn’t exist and she much rather prefers men showering her with money and ”making bread” – and ”dating broke men should be illegal”.
The stunner is even willing to rinse some of her sugar daddies completely dry, with one man recently transferring her the very last of his funds.
”Queen, I only have $305.98 left in my account. I want to send Queen but can it please wait? I get paid on the 1st,” the Romeo wrote via text.
Jess wasn’t having any of it, as she replied: ”Send all of it today. I control your money and send the same amount on the 1st.”
The luxe lifestyle lover also revealed that she will never accept a sugar daddy paying her $100 (£80) a week as an allowance.
While she does ”appreciate the offer”, Jess insisted that the sum ”doesn’t quite reflect the value” she brings – or what she’s after.
The young woman was having an exceptionally high earnings during the festive season when numerous sugar daddies were constantly tipping her on the platform.
The amounts, she shared in a viral clip, ranged from £40 to a whopping £2,000 by an eager fan.
What is a sugar daddy and how does the relationship work?
A sugar daddy is a generous older man who spends lavishly on his mistress, girlfriend or boyfriend.
He’s often a businessman, who considers himself too busy for conventional dating – and isn’t short of a few bob.
A sugar baby, meanwhile, is normally an attractive younger woman who can’t afford her luxury lifestyle.
The couple will usually establish a financial agreement early on – as well as their boundaries, such as whether or not they’re considering a sexual relationship.
Some sugar babies ask for a monthly allowance, while other get ‘expenses’ in the form of glam holidays and shopping sprees.
While a growing number of sugar babies are university students, who turn to their ‘daddy’ to pay their fees.
‘Need an income’
Close to 200 social media users flocked to the comments, with many confessing they were keen to give the site a go too.
One wondered: ”how can I start too. need an income.”
Someone else chimed in: ”Don’t give me any funny ideas.”
”Get the bag sis, no more shaming please. My sisters need to stay rich,” a third said.
However, not everyone was as impressed, with one critic writing: ”Not all money is good money.”
Is a sugar baby relationship safe?
Those behind sugar daddy sites like Seeking Arrangement, What’s Your Price, Sugar Daddie and Rich Meet Beautiful insist it is safe.
One concern is that the sugar babies can be asked to meet at their daddy’s home or a hotel room.
While others involved may worry that a man, having not only paid for the dates but extra expenses as well, would be more likely to expect sex.
There are some risks involved, and a sugar baby needs to be clear on their boundaries before entering into a relationship.
Sugar babies should only meet in public places when sex is off the table.

A MUM-OF-NINE shared an insight into everyday life in her large family.
She also clapped back at haters who criticise her for having so many children.

In her viral video, TikTok user Maxine (@thefamilyyoung) revealed some of the comments her family gets from strangers on a regular basis.
She and her husband Jake married in 2016 and within a year they had four children living under their roof.
“Yes, I do know what birth control is,” the TikToker told her audience.
In fact, the mum has only been pregnant twice, once with quadruplets.
She gave birth to her son Henry in October 2018 with Silas, Cecelia, Beck, and Theo arriving in July 2020.
However, before having their biological children, the couple welcome three children on emergency placement from foster care.
Aiden, who was four at the time, and his siblings Parker, then aged two, and Connor, who was 11 months, joined the family in July 2017.
A month later, Jake and Maxine received a call about their newborn sister Elliott and collected her directly from the hospital.
The four children were officially adopted into the family in December 2019.
With nine kids in their home, the couple have developed a steadfast grocery plan.
They revealed that they buy nappies in packs of 640 at a time, going through at least 20 each day.
The family also fork out for 40 litres of milk and 40 loaves of bread each week.
In between grocery shopping and minding their kids, they also carry out two full loads of laundry each day.
Despite the expensive lifestyle, the family have managed to visit 14 countries with their children.
Both Jake and Maxine described themselves as “the luckiest people in the world.”
