NETFLIX is pressing ahead with airing Liam Payne’s TV talent show, Building the Band, without his grieving family’s final blessing.

The former One Direction star’s loved ones were in talks with the streaming giant to ensure they were happy before the programme was scheduled.

But yesterday Netflix confirmed it would release the boyband search show this year — despite not yet having their sign off.

An insider said: “They spoke with Liam’s family as they didn’t want to progress the project without taking their feelings into consideration.

“The family got the sense that this was a celebration of Liam, an image of positivity.

“He was doing what he did best as a true boyband star.

“But they hadn’t given it a final stamp of approval and as far as they were concerned were still discussing what the show would look like.

“So they were surprised by the announcement.”

Liam, who died in October in a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, was a guest judge on Building the Band with Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland.

It is hosted by Backstreet Boys singer AJ Maclean and, says Netflix, has “one big goal: to find the next great music band”.

Liam finished filming just months before his death at 31, leaving the multi-million-pound project in limbo.

We exclusively revealed in December that Netflix had been in talks with Liam’s family.

Netflix reality show boss Jeff Gaspin confirmed this week in LA that they had been contacted “to discuss what role that will play”.

He added: “There is nothing to announce yet.”

But confusion arose when Netflix’s UK wing said the show would air this year. Netflix declined to comment.

Music megastars shelve plans for 2025 UK and European tour after promoters fail to make dates work

THE Rolling Stones have shelved plans for a major tour this summer.

The veteran rockers and their promoters had not been able to make the dates work for proposed gigs across the UK and Europe, insiders said.

But Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, both 81, and Ronnie Wood, 77, were said to be hopeful that the shows could go ahead in 2026.

A source said: “Promoters had been locked in discussions with The Stones about coming to the UK and Europe.

“There had been hope the gigs would take place this summer but it’s not worked out.

“And now it’s been shelved. But Mick, Keith and Ronnie love to perform live shows so there’s a hope that the promoters can lock in dates for next year.”

Fan sites suggested gig were pencilled in for stadiums in cities including London, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Copenhagen.

The band, formed in 1962, last performed live last summer in the US — where they sold more than 848,000 tickets for their Hackney Diamonds tour.

The 20 stadium concerts grossed more than £188million and proved the Stones were still one of the best live — and most bankable — bands in the world.

The tour was in support of their 24th album, Hackney Diamonds, which went straight to the top of the charts in October 2023.

It was their first album of original tunes since A Bigger Bang in 2005.

Your roast chicken will be juicier and tastier if you add one ingredient – and Gordon Ramsay swears by it

A ROAST chicken dinner is a Sunday staple.

And if you’ve got plans to cook one up this weekend, you may want to listen up.

TV chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed there is a surprise ingredient you have to use when prepping your chicken to make sure it is tastier and juicier.

As one of the most accomplished chefs in the world, with more than 20 cookbooks, 80 restaurants and 17 Michelin stars to his name – it’s worth giving it a go.

When it comes to a roast chicken, the 58-year-old swears egg as his special ingredient.

In a short clip, he explains that you should crack open the egg, whisk it up and gently brush the outside of the chicken with it.

By following this step, he argues, the seasoning will stick to the skin better and make the finished product more delicious.

The yolk will also help the skin turn golden brown while locking in the juices.

He says: “The labour of love is at the beginning. Treat this bird with respect, and trust me, it’ll come back tenfold.”

With a 12-pack of eggs costing as little as £2.79 in Aldi it works out as a cheap meal hack at 23p a go.

And if you want to make use of the rest of the eggs, you could also copy Gordon’s “boring” meals he swears by when he’s trying to stay in shape.

The TV chef admits that his own meals are a lot plainer than anything he’d expect people to dish up on Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

He told Men’s Health that his daily diet consists of a protein shake in the morning followed by scrambled eggs for lunch.

Eggs can help you feel fuller for longer and are a complete source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids that the body can’t produce on its own.

And for dinner? Some simple poached chicken or fish, which uses minimal to no added fat.

He still has standards when it comes to his cooking methods too – insisting he will never boil his meat of choice.

In his usual sweary manner, he joked: “Boiling it is going to give it a texture like f***ing Gandhi’s flip-flop.”
