As the build-up to WrestleMania 41 intensifies, the WWE Universe is ablaze with rumors about Cody Rhodes’ highly anticipated matchup with John Cena. However, given that Cena has sided with The Rock, The American Nightmare might be in serious trouble. In his attempt to unseat Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cena has the best insurance policy possible with the Final Boss on his side. To level the playing field, though, might a legend from the Attitude Era stand up? Stone Cold Steve Austin, according to Vince Russo, might be the ideal candidate.
Russo believes that Stone Cold will help Cody Rhodes
Former WWE writer Russo has said that Austin has to appear at Wrestlemania with the hints they have given to the audience.

Speaking on his show, Russo pointed out that Stone Cold Steve Austin would not have teased a return if he had not signed a new WWE contract. He expects Austin to play a role in the match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena.
“I was a little taken aback when Austin sat down and did an interview after The Rock thing. Then Austin said, ‘Yeah sure. If they want to call me, if Cody wants to call me…,’ bro Austin would never do that, unless the deal is made. He would’ve said nothing about it, been completely quiet about it, and would’ve waited to see if they contacted him. Then on top of that, they double down with this fanfest. So what I am saying is, I think it’s already a done deal based on what he said but they want it to be somewhat of a surprise.”
WWE recently confirmed Stone Cold Steve Austin’s appearance at WWE World in Las Vegas over WrestleMania weekend, which stoked rumors that he might make his first in-ring appearance since his historic 2022 fight against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38.
Austin had earlier stated on The Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez podcast that he would be willing to help Rhodes if necessary, which heightened the rumors even further.
John Cena and Cody Rhodes will be present on WWE RAW this week
John Cena made his first appearance on RAW after going heel this past Monday. In an angry outburst, the 16-time World Champion said that the “toxic relationship” between him and his supporters was gone. Cody Rhodes soon confronted Cena and spoke with him briefly.

Given that both men will be attending WWE’s main event next week, it is anticipated that the two will cross paths again on the red brand.
When John Cena and Cody Rhodes square off for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, they will have the opportunity to resolve their grievances inside the squared circle.
For the match, the Rock is anticipated to be by Cena’s side. However, both of them didn’t mention how the Final Boss got involved in this.
For now, we know why Cena went to the dark side. The Rock hasn’t yet made an appearance since the Elimination Chamber and nobody knows what he will do next. Hence, Cody should keep Steve Austin as insurance lest the Rock appears.
