Since the It Ends With Us premiere in August 2024, the world has been glued to the drama between its stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. From lawsuits and leaked behind-the-scenes videos going viral, it was a feud we weren’t exactly expecting, but have kept it up every step of the way.
But while the Jane the Virgin star and Lively continue their lawsuits, including Lively’s recent filing to dismiss Justin’s multi-million dollar lawsuit, per Us Weekly, we’re shining a light on another part of the Baldoni-Lively drama: his wife Emily Baldoni.
During the movie’s ups and downs, Emily showed nothing but support for her husband. On August 6, they attended the premiere together, and, on January 24, 2025, she broke her silence for the first time by posting a sweet tribute to Justin for his birthday.
“Happy birthday my love,” Emily wrote in the caption on Instagram. “Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again.”

She’s from Uppsala, Sweden
While Justin is proudly from Los Angeles, California, Emily is originally from Uppsala, Sweden.
In an interview with Mandatory in 2013, she revealed that she’s been trying to get rid of her accent since moving to the US, but it comes and goes. “I’m 100% Swedish and now you will probably hear it,” she said. “When people know they’re like, ‘Ah, there it is.’ When I’m tired or upset, it definitely comes out.”
She’s Been Married to Justin Since 2013
Luckily for fans of the couple, Justin has shared many of his and Emily’s milestones on social media.
In October 2013, a video of Justin’s all-out proposal went viral on YouTube. In it, Justin pretends to be in numerous boy bands, does a public flash mob and delivers a tear-jerking speech at the restaurant where they had their first date.
“On April 13th I proposed to my girlfriend Emily at the restaurant where we had our first date,” he said in the caption. “I told her I was running late, had the restaurant opened just for her, and set up hidden cameras all around her. When she sat down at the table, there was a TV in front of her set to take her on a journey that would lead to the proposal of a lifetime.” The video has over 14 million views.
A few months after their proposal, in November 2013, they tied the knot in Corona, Calif. In a video shared by the couple, they delivered heartfelt vows.
“Emily, for the rest of my life, I will cherish you, I will appreciate you, I will listen to you, I will laugh with you [and] I will take care of you,” Justin said.
“I love you, truly, madly, deeply,” Emily said in her vows. “I will stand strong by your side, grateful to have a man who will go above and beyond to comfort a friend or to simply make somebody feel loved. I will stand firm by your side, deeply appreciative to have a man who inspires me and the people around him to live life more fully.”
She’s a Mom of Two
Since tying the knot, Emily and Justin have welcomed two kids: their daughter Maiya Grace and their son Maxwell.
Again, Justin shared the news in a viral video titled Emily and Justin: The Surprise. In it, they’re seen telling their closest friends and family, and the Jane the Virgin cast, of the pregnancy news. In the end, they find out they’re expecting a baby girl.
Maiya Grace was born a few months later on June 27, 2015.
In May 2017, they shared another video, titled Justin and Emily: The Surprise Part 2, where they shared their friends and family’s reactions to their second baby. By the end, just like the first, they found out about the baby’s sex.
Their son Maxwell was born on Oct. 18, 2017.
“Our little Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni came into this world on Wednesday and showed us that it was possible for our hearts to double in size… again,” the couple told People after the birth.
She’s an Actress
In addition to being a wife and mom of two, Emily is also an actress, a career she pursued by moving to the US. According to IMDb, she’s starred in a series of episodes of major TV shows like How I Met Your Mother, Mad Men and Reckless. She’s also acted in movies including 16 to Life and Coherence.
Emily has also cameoed in many of her husband’s projects including It Ends With Us and Five Feet Apart, which he directed.
She Has a Maternity Brand
Emily is also the co-founder of the maternity brand We Are Amma.

chocolate glazed donuts,” she wrote. “My biggest pet peeve…is when people assume a struggling, frustrated mother equals an ungrateful mother. Becoming a mama… has taken me on a roller coaster of depression, boundless immeasurable joy, and everything in between. My kids have…been Americans longer than me (or is it “longer than I”? #foreigner).”
