Aldi is selling shoes ideal for gardening £70 cheaper than Birkenstock

ALDI is selling shoes ideal for gardening and over £70 cheaper than flash brand Birkenstock.

The discounter has launched the garden clogs in its Specialbuys section and shoppers can pick up a pair for just £6.

Meanwhile, Birkenstock has a similar pair on its website for £80 – £74 more expensive.

Bargain hunters looking to snap up Aldi‘s clogs can get them in black or khaki colours and in a range of sizes.

As ever though, the Specialbuys won’t be around for ever so you should be quick if you want to buy them.

You can find your nearest Aldi branch by using the retailer’s store locator tool via stores.aldi.co.uk/store-finder.

Of course, remember when buying any product to shop around to figure out if you’re getting the best price possible.

The Trolley website is useful for comparing prices on supermarket products.

Meanwhile, you can use price comparison websites like Price Spy and PriceRunner which scans prices across a wider pool of retailers.

However, we had a quick look to see if the other major retailers are selling garden clogs cheaper than Aldi’s £6 pair but couldn’t find any.

The gardening clogs are not the only Specialbuy Aldi has launched in recent weeks that might be worth a purchase.

The discounter is also selling a Ferrex High Pressure washer for £90, saving you up to £160 compared to buying a similar Karcher model.

Both Specialbuy products are part of a range of gardening products on offer at the retailer ahead of summer.

Shoppers can also pick up a garden storage box for £30, an outdoor spa pool for £250 and three types of handsaw for just £4.

There’s also a winger airer on sale for £16 that’s ideal for drying your clothes outdoors as the weather gets warmer.

SAVE MONEY AT ALDI

It’s worth keeping an eye out for products with red stickers on them.

These are added to items that have been reduced due to them being close to their best before date or slightly damaged.

The best time to get these reduced products is towards the end of the day, when you can get discounts worth up to 75%.

Aldi shoppers can pick up Too Good to Go bags of fresh food worth £10 for £3.30 too.

You can pick them up in stores but there are only a limited amount each day.

When’s the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible.

Aldi also offers cheap fruit and veg as part of its Everyday Essentials range, including discounted wonky bundles.

You can grab a wonky 1.5kg bag of carrots for 60p and a pack of wonky grapes for £1.49 in branches.

Keep an eye on the middle aisle shelves of your local Aldi branch too – the discounter is often flogging quirky and discounted stuff there.

Shoppers recently saw 300g pouches of Quality Street selling for 49p instead of £1.99 at one branch.
