A POPULAR takeaway has been crowned Glasgow’s “best kebab shop”.
Shawarma Grill, situated on Paisley Road West in the city’s southside, bagged the title at the 2025 Scottish Business Awards.

The business serves up a range of tasty dishes including kebabs, wraps, pizza and mixed grill.
Staff took to social media to share their delight following the win, with punters flocking to congratulate the takeaway.
Shawarma Grill wrote on Sunday: “We wouldn’t have had a chance to be nominated without your support!
“We are proud to say we have won this award because of our customers’ loyalty and support for many years.
“Thank you to all of our fantastic and loyal customers for this achievement.
“Both Shawarma Grill and our neighbours Icebitez Desserts won an award tonight. Thank you again and we hope to see you all soon.”
Punters regularly rave over the 4.5 star restaurant online, with many complimenting the “authentic” scran.
One wrote: “Shawarma Grill Restaurant is a true gem! The shawarma is incredibly flavourful, and their grilled meats are absolutely outstanding – juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked.

It comes as a family-run Glasgow butchers also scooped a gong at the Scottish Business Awards 2025.
Thomson Bros, situated on Fenwick Road in the city’s Giffnock area, bagged the title of Best Butchers.
The shop, run by Ronnie, Jim and Jamie Jamieson, is highly rated by locals for its “customer service and high-quality produce”.
