The Uchiha clan from Naruto still has the ever-growing fandom in a chokehold. Although both the manga and the anime concluded long ago, the series continues to attract new fans every day. The Uchihas, and especially Itachi Uchiha, are a big reason behind that.

Hailed as one of the greatest ninjas, Itachi was one of the most dynamic characters in the series. This was as much because of his demeanor as it was because of his abilities. More importantly, he was also one of the strongest Genjutsu wielders in Naruto.
Interestingly, while Itachi’s ability had stumped many top-level ninjas, there is one ninja who had seemingly worked out the elusive method to get out of it. As it stands, fans might finally have an explanation as to why and how that is.
Itachi’s fellow Akatsuki member Deidara found a way to break out of his Genjutsu in Naruto
In Naruto’s world, wrought with ninjas with more fantastical abilities than the other, anybody who wanted to establish their name had to be exceptional. Itachi Uchiha was such a character, who, even among the Sharingan owners, was considered to be a child prodigy.

Moreover, he was also one of the youngest Anbu members of the Hidden Leaf Village. While he was a capable ninja on all aspects, what made him one of the most dangerous foes was his Tsukuyomi ability.
Although he possessed the skill only in his left eye, he had condemned many to unspeakable torture with that skill. Especially as he had mastered it to the point of being able to alter the perception of time of his opponent when they are trapped in the Genjutsu.
For example, when he trapped Kakashi in a Tsukuyomi and subjected him to torture for 72 hours, only a fraction of a second passed in reality. Regardless, breaking out of Genjutsu in itself seems like an impossible feat.
However, one of Itachi’s fellow Akatsuki members in Naruto actually found a way to resist that. That is, of course, the artist Deidara. It is an interesting hypothesis to think about whether he could have managed to break out of Tsukuyomi as well if he ever got the chance.
In any case, since he never faced that, it remains a question for fans to think about. Nonetheless, fans might finally have an answer as to how he could train his eye to fight off the Sharingan’s Genjutsu by himself. This, obviously, has given fans more to speculate on.
Fans might finally have an answer to how Deidara trained his eye to resist Genjutsu in Naruto
Genjutsu is definitely one of, if not the most potent abilities in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. A technique that allows you to trap your opponent in a false reality where they are forced to play by your rules? That is not only one of the coolest abilities out there, but also one of the most dangerous ones.

As a result, the number of people who could win against an opponent with the ability was infinitesimal. However, Deidara managed to do just that. He said so himself during his battle with Sasuke,
Since that day I trained my left eye to counter the Sharingan.
For context, “that day” referred to his first meeting with Itachi when he was instantly trapped in his Genjutsu. Interestingly, fans might finally have an answer to how he did that.
During a discussion on the topic on the r/Naruto forum, a fan pointed out that being a member of the Akatsuki, he had gotten the chance to observe Itachi far more closely.
Moreover, he might have also gotten a chance to exercise his methods against the same. Although that sounds unlikely, it is still a possibility to consider.
However, a more plausible theory is the camera-like gadget he wore on his left eye. Another fan pointed out that his pupils were shown to be contracting when he countered Genjutsu.
So, the key to breaking out of it could be in controlling how much light, and by extension how much of the Genjutsu someone gets exposed to.
How did Deidara train his eye for resist sharingan’s genjutsu? If it’s possible than why don’t everybody do this?

Regardless, being one of the only ninjas who could break out of it actually makes him stronger than Naruto fans initially thought. However, even with that, he might never have gotten the chance to counter Itachi’s Tsukuyomi as it only took a fraction of a second to take effect.
Although fans will never get a concrete answer to that since the series is long done and dusted, it is still an interesting topic to think about.
Naruto is streaming on Hulu.
