Black Clover fans have been waiting for season 5 for a long time. And it’s not an exaggeration, given that it has already been four years, and the once-popular Shonen hotseller has seen no updates regarding its release date or confirmation.
Fans have no idea if their favorite anime has even been greenlit yet. By now, Black Clover fanatics might even be ready to trade their firstborns for a chance to watch Studio Pierrot complete the anime. But how much longer can they wait?

After four long years, fans have been getting too impatient about the anime’s fifth season. Thus, they have taken matters into their own hands.
Enough waiting for Black Clover season 5, it’s time for fans to take charge

Fans have waited long enough to get even a single sliver of information about Black Clover season 5. But it has been too long, and anime watchers are finally losing patience. So what better way to jolt Studio Pierrot into action than to release a fan-made OP for the anime’s yet-to-be-announced season?
The fan animation in question has been uploaded by a creator called Sheen Clover on YouTube. The video is even complete with a theme song, Kanaria by Hatsune Miku. The opening is not completely devoid of spoilers, though, so watch at your own expense.
The video highlights all the major moments that are yet to be animated in season 5. From Sister Lily’s sudden betrayal to all of the Black Bulls fighting together, the animated sequence has a lot of shots. It also half reveals Lucius’s face, leaving most things about the final villain a secret. All of the Black Bull members who will soon have some shining moments of valor have also been shown.
Studio Pierrot needs to do better by Black Clover
By no means is the fan-animated opening theme superior to the actual Black Clover anime or its openings. But it is beautifully animated, nonetheless. There is no unnecessary delay or jarring movements. Considering the fact that the video did not have an entire staff panel working behind it, it turned out pretty well.
This leads to the question, what has Studio Pierrot been doing all this time? The animation of Black Clover isn’t stellar. In fact, it is peppered with plenty of mistakes. The characters are misaligned, and the basic body structure has been bent beyond recognition. Some body parts become short for no reason, and facial features randomly circle around in the face.
Apart from this, the animation itself is not smooth. The anime did overcome it in later episodes, and talented freelancers were hired to create some of the best shots. But the beginning of the series has already left a bad taste in the mouth. So if a fan animation can make an anime look so appealing, Studio Pierrot needs to up its game, too.
Black Clover anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
