The tight-knit family has remained together and celebrates every milestone of her career throughout the years. As such, one might think that landing Stranger Things would mean that her parents would allow most things about her role that didn’t jeopardize her safety.
The truth, however, is something else. Astoundingly, Millie Bobby Brown’s mother, Kelly Brown, who is known to be extremely supportive of her career, almost vetoed a small but crucial creative choice in Stranger Things.
That is, she was opposed to the actress shaving her head for the series. Brown claimed the same to Elle in 2016, stating, “My mom’s like, ‘No! That’s not happening,’”. Thankfully, she ultimately changed her mind after the actress and her father persuaded her.
I was like, ‘Mom. You need to chill out; it’s gonna grow back.’ My mom was against it. And me and my dad were like, ‘Come on. It’s fine!’
Interestingly, although her mother was against her going bald, even if for the fear that it might impact her career negatively, it actually had the opposite effect.
Quickly after her new look’s debut in the groundbreaking series, it went on to become a pop culture phenomenon. In fact, many people jumped on the trend and sported their new shaved head looks with pride.

As stated above, Millie Bobby Brown shares a very close relationship with her family. Her parents, Kelly and Robert Brown, have supported her and been there for her at every step. As per People, the family used to move around quite a bit during Brown’s childhood, until they settled down in Florida with a teeth whitening business.
However, when Brown’s acting talent was discovered, they left it all behind to move to California to find better opportunities for her. Unfortunately, although she was landing cameos in shows like Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy, it wasn’t enough to keep the family afloat.
Things became so bad that ultimately they had to move back to England with the Enola Holmes star’s aunt as they ran out of money. Thankfully, soon after that Brown landed her Stranger Things role, and they haven’t had to look back since.
Their bond also shines through the actress’ production company PCMA Productions, named after her older sister Paige, older brother Charlie, Millie, and younger sister Ava Brown.
In fact, Brown has noted several times not only her appreciation and admiration for her family, but also how close she is to them. During her appearance on Lorraine in 2023, she stated that her parents are “the best thing ever”.
I’m best friends with them.
She further added that they travel all over the world with her. Moreover, she also claimed that “they are a huge part” of her life and a big reason behind her current success.
