Hugh Jackman has starred in a lot of star-studded pieces over the years and his diverse projects perfectly justify his status as one of the most praiseworthy actors in Hollywood’s entertainment industry. In fact, even his outstanding performance in a piece like Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) after one like The Son (2022) serves as the perfect testament to the same.
But his diverse pieces and versatility as an actor don’t quite seem to be downing at all, as the latest project he is being reported to be working on really has my mind blown. To say the least, after acknowledging the murder mystery that he is being reported to be working on, I can’t deny that it’s the most unique idea I’ve heard in Hollywood in recent years.

Hugh Jackman is reportedly working on a murder mystery unlike any other
Ever since his career kickstarted with stage performances followed by the ones on theatre screens and television, Hugh Jackman has really starred in a stupendous amount of projects that have earned him global recognition for his versatility as an artist. But when it comes to the latest project he seems to be working on, I’m sure even you would be left star-struck.

According to the latest reports from @DiscussingFilm on X, The Greatest Showman actor is reportedly next to star in a murder mystery titled Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story. While the title in itself is more than enough to raise more than just a few eyebrows, wait till you read what the plot is all about before you start judging this project.
Per the same source, the unique storyline this epic tale is expected to follow will surround “a flock of sheep who must solve the brutal murder of their shepherd.” Guess who the shepherd is? That’s right: The beloved Wolverine star himself. And that’s not all, because reportedly joining him is further star power including Bryan Cranston, Patrick Stewart & Emma Thompson.
Remarkably enough, it sounds like the ferocious Wolverine will be going from being the brutal predator to the prey in this upcoming piece. But, on an honest note, while this sounds like nothing more than an April Fools joke, it’s actually real. This is because the same was recently teased at the CinemaCon, with both Jackman and Thompson talking about it!
Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson comment on Three Bags Full

During the recently held presentation at the CinemaCon inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Emma Thompson and Hugh Jackman teased the same. Thompson said in a video segment for the film (via The Hollywood Reporter):
It was, as you’ll see from the clip, the most fantastic, loving, beautiful idea, this synthesis between animals and people.
That’s not all. In a behind-the-scenes clip featuring both of them, Hugh Jackman said about the film Kyle Balda helmed from a script provided by Craig Mazin: “Craig Mazin’s wit is just second to none.” The Logan star then proceeded to add his comment about the flick, “The movie is a bit of a whodunit, which is always fun. The movie has such heart.”
Well, with a star cast like this and the actors themselves claiming the said movie is actually one of a kind and expected to be a fun watch, I might as well give it a chance when it comes out for release. But when it comes to the idea for the same? I can’t really deny that it truly is, unarguably, one of the most unique and out-of-the-box ideas I’ve heard in recent years.
Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Comedy currently has a release date of February 20, 2026.
