A MAJOR motorway has been closed after a multi-vehicle crash causing delays of more than an hour.
Lanes have been closed on the M1 southbound between junction nine for Harpenden and junction eight for Hemel Hempstead.
National Highways said the inter-urban motorway in Hertfordshire has since reopened lane three.
