MCU Killed Chris Evans’ Captain America Only to Bring Him Back: Here is What’s Wrong With This Theory

So, for a while now, we’ve noticed this wild Captain America theory floating around—but never thought to address it. However, today, the idea of Chris Evans’ Cap actually dying in Infinity War hit a bit too hard and here we’re, to not only acknowledge the theory but also debunk it.

Okay, so remember how Captain America was knocked out by Thanos in Infinity War? Well, there’s a theory that suggests that Steve Rogers had apparently died with that punch from the Titan, and was later revived when Thanos rewound time to get the Infinity Stone from Vision. But no matter how interesting this idea looks, it has way too many loopholes.

Spider-Man debunks the fan theory surrounding Captain America’s death

Alright let’s get straight to the point—the fan theory on Instagram suggested that in Avengers: Infinity War, Chris Evans’ Captain America had apparently died from Thanos’ one massive punch to his face. Let’s just begin here, before we proceed further to the revival theory, using the Time Stone.

So, according to the fan theory, the MCU hero, or should we rather say America’s A*s, who joined the team of Avengers with his superhuman strength, was whacked by the Mad Titan, and that’s all it took for him to give up? The same dude who stopped Bucky’s chopper with his Godly biceps was knocked out by Thanos’ punch? Sounds rather unbelievable.

Think about it. Like if Captain America really died from Thanos’ punch in Infinity War, then Spider-Man should’ve been toast too. Remember, during the Battle of Titan, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man got whacked mid-air by Thanos—same force, maybe even stronger than what Cap got. And what did Spidey do? He shook it off.

Meanwhile, the fan theory suggests that Chris Evans‘ Captain America took a punch from Thanos in Wakanda, fell to the ground, and succumbed. That just doesn’t add up. Because again, Steve Rogers isn’t just any guy—this man survived a lot worse. So, if anyone could take a hit from Thanos and live to tell the tale, it’s him.

The limitations of the Time Stone prove the theory wrong

By now, the fan theory is already crumbling, but maybe we should give it a Thanos-level punch to completely debunk it. So let’s talk about the real reason behind this theory’s downfall—the Time Stone. While the idea that Captain America was secretly revived when Thanos rewound time to bring Vision back is genuinely a fun thought, sadly, it’s wrong.

Why? Because the Time Stone has its limitations and it doesn’t work like that. Let’s trace back to when we were introduced to the Time Stone—Doctor Strange used it on an apple and only the apple changed, not the whole room. Same deal when he used it on the ancient texts to revive the missing pages. So going by this formula—when Thanos reversed time in Wakanda, it only brought Vision back, Cap was completely unaffected.

Moreover, if you look closely, you’ll see Wanda standing behind Vision watching the rewind happen on Vision, and yet she’s not getting affected herself. So, in that case, if Captain America had truly died from Thanos’ brutal punch, he wouldn’t have returned, because he wouldn’t have been affected by the Time Stone, much like Wanda, who was standing at a much closer proximity than Cap.

So, here we rest our case—Captain America didn’t die, and neither did the Time Stone bring him back.
