Travis Kelce’s friend Nick Wright revealed that he has not had the chance to catch up with the athlete since he started dating Taylor Swift.
Travis, 35, and his brother Jason Kelce brought up Wright’s name during a recent episode of their “New Heights” podcast while making suggestions as to who is best to discuss NFL salary caps on the show. “[I] f***ing love Nick Wright,” Travis said during the podcast.
Wright, 40, reacted to the shout-out on the Thursday, March 27, episode of his “What’s Wright? With Nick Wright” podcast, revealing that he and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end “have not talk talked since he’s been serious with Taylor Swift, since he’s become, like, a super-duper celebrity.”
Wright assured listeners there’s no bad blood between the pair, rather other circumstances have affected their interactions.

“I don’t want to bother him during the year. And then, last off-season, he was traveling the world with Taylor,” Wright explained, referring to Travis supporting Swift, 35, at several international stops of her Eras Tour, which ended in December 2024.
Wright went on to note that he and Travis were supposed to chat at the Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl Parade in Kansas City before a shooting left one person dead and dozens injured. “We were going to, I think, get together after the parade or during,” he shared. “But there was obviously the tragedy and the shooting at the parade, and so everything got askew. So, I haven’t talked to Trav in a while, so appreciate the shout-out on one of the world’s most popular podcasts.”
Wright also said he’s down to talk all things NFL salary caps with Travis and Jason, 37, on the “New Heights” podcast.
“I’ll do it, and I’ll wave my appearance fee just to help them out,” he stated. “They want someone to come on and really just break down — I don’t have an appearance fee — really just break down the cap. Nothing would thrill me more.”
Kelce began dating Swift in 2023. The two connected shortly after he tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at a July 2023 Eras Tour concert in Kansas City. The couple were officially dating by the time Swift attended her first Chiefs game that September.
Just as Travis supported Swift at her tour shows, she has cheered him on at several of his NFL games over the years, including Super Bowl LIX on February 9. The championship game saw the Chiefs lose to Jason’s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, with a score of 22 to 40.
Travis is set to return for another NFL season later this year, but for now, he and Swift are enjoying some well-deserved time off. “Taylor and Travis are taking it easy right now,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly last month. “They’ve been laying low in Kansas City.”
A second insider noted that the couple have been “traveling [and] spending precious time together and letting the rest of the world go for a bit.” Their recent travels have included a dinner outing in Park City, Utah, and back-to-back date nights in New York City.
The couple recently took home their first award together, winning Favorite Surprise Guest at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards last month. The award — one of eight Swift took home on March 17 — was given in honor of Travis’ surprise Eras Tour cameo in London back in June 2024, during which he helped her get ready in a skit before her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
