Residents of Anomabo in the Mfantsiman Municipality of the Central Region are living in fear following the mysterious appearance of a sheep on a sacred rock in the middle of the sea—an area believed to be inaccessible by foot.
The sacred rock, highly revered by the local community, is considered the dwelling place of their supreme gods. The sudden presence of the sheep has sparked concerns among residents, many of whom believe it could be a bad omen.
Traditional leaders, upon hearing of the incident, swiftly moved to the location and managed to retrieve the animal. However, despite their intervention, fear and uncertainty linger in the community, with many worried about the possible spiritual implications.
Some residents fear that the unexpected occurrence could bring about curses or misfortunes, as the sacred site is not meant to be disturbed by living beings. Others, however, remain puzzled as to how the sheep ended up on the rock in the first place, given its isolated and inaccessible location.
A video of the strange sighting, shared by Edhub on Twitter in March and later sighted by MyNewsGH.com, has sparked widespread discussion, with many calling for spiritual consultations to determine the significance of the event.
Traditional leaders are expected to perform rituals to cleanse the sacred site and appease the gods.
