“This company used to make The Sopranos”: Logan Paul’s Reality TV on Max Maybe the Worst Fall From Grace for Television’s Greatest Pioneer

HBO once reigned as the gold standard of television, delivering masterpieces like The Sopranos and The Wire. Now, it seemed to have taken a bizarre detour, straight into Logan Paul’s reality show.

Max, the streaming home of HBO, had once been synonymous with prestige. But with Paul at the helm of its latest unscripted spectacle, fans couldn’t help but wonder: had the network officially lost the plot?

Once home to The Sopranos, HBO’s legacy took a bizarre detour, straight into influencer chaos. Paul American, an unscripted series starring Logan and Jake Paul, is set to drop on Max, and fans are already furious.

The eight-part show promises an “unfiltered” look into the brothers’ high-octane lives, featuring their parents, girlfriends, and career ventures. Expect heated family drama, behind-the-scenes boxing and WWE moments, and more social media antics than anyone asked for.

But the trailer did little to win over subscribers. One viral reaction pretty much summed up the backlash:

In the teaser, Logan reads a brutal text from Jake calling him a “gaslighting, delusional, ego-driven narcissist.” Moments later, Jake yells over the phone, “You don’t even have a single f**ing friend, bro.”

Meanwhile, their father, Greg Paul, proudly declares, “Cancel culture can suck my a** all day long.”

Despite the backlash, the Pauls are hyping up their series, calling it a raw and honest look at their journey. Max is banking on their internet fame, but longtime HBO fans see this as a major fall from grace.

From The Sopranos to Paul American – the transition has been, well, dramatic.

HBO, the network that gave us The Sopranos and The Wire, just dropped the trailer for Paul American, a reality show starring Logan and Jake Paul, and fans are livid. Many are questioning Max’s direction, with some even looking for the “cancel subscription” button.

From mob bosses to influencers, HBO’s transformation has fans mourning the golden era of TV. Paul American hasn’t even premiered, yet it’s already a contender for Max’s most hated show. Whether it tanks or trends, one thing’s clear: this isn’t the HBO fans signed up for.

The first episode of Paul American will drop on March 27, 2025.
