Tragic Rangers fan killed in road crash in Turkey pictured as tributes paid to ‘nicest guy’

TRIBUTES have been paid to a Rangers supporter who tragically died after a road smash in Turkey.

Christopher Potter travelled to Istanbul with thousands of fellow fans to watch tonight’s Europa League showdown against Fenerbahce.

However the beloved dad and husband’s trip was cut short after he was killed in a “road traffic accident”.

A Rangers spokesman said: “We are devastated to have learned of the passing of one of our supporters in a road traffic accident overnight in Istanbul.

“The immediate thoughts of everyone at the club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“We are remaining in constant contact with both the Turkish and British authorities over this tragic incident.”

Elsewhere scores of tributes have flooded in for the tragic fan who was hailed as the “nicest guy”.

One well-wisher wrote: “Absolutely heartbreaking, rest easy uncle.”

Another added: “Christopher was one of life’s good guys who will be sadly missed by all.”

A third commented: “Honestly one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, you’ll be sadly missed by so many.”
