Although It Ends with Us turned out to be a massive box-office prize winner, beloved to most fans despite earning mixed reviews from the critics, what seems to be gaining more limelight than the movie itself are the controversies surrounding it. Or, to be more precise, the controversies surrounding the lead actress, Blake Lively, as more and more allegations sprout against her.
In the fire that has been ignited by the legal troubles between Lively and her co-star in the said romance drama, Justin Baldoni, a closer examination of one of the scenes seems to point out that she may have struck once again. This is because she appears to have tried to recreate one of her romantic scenes with Ryan Reynolds from the biggest flop of their careers, Green Lantern.
Blake Lively tried to recreate a Green Lantern scene in It Ends with Us?
Of all the controversies surrounding It Ends with Us, one of the biggest ones has been that Blake Lively reportedly tried to get in more creative input on the movie; even more than the director himself. Among the other things surfacing in the wake of this criticism, one particular thing seems to stand out: Did the actress try to recreate a Green Lantern scene in the said film?
The scene in the talk is the one where Lively’s Carol is at a bar, slow-dancing with Ryan Reynolds‘ Hal, and he apologizes to her saying, “Even if I didn’t go to the Air Force, I would’ve found some way to… You and me, I would’ve blown it.” And fans who have seen both this movie as well as her recent one with Justin Baldoni will sense something familiar in both.
To be more precise, in the romance drama, there’s the scene where Baldoni’s Ryle and Lively’s Lily are shown to be falling in love and longing to be close to each other. During this, the pair is also seen slow dancing together in a bar — the behind-the-scenes clips of which were shared by Baldoni’s legal team amidst their ongoing lawsuit — similar to the scene in the superhero flick.

While putting both scenes side by side will make them seem pretty much identical, one of the only differences between the two is that in the superhero flick, Hal and Carol were talking while dancing, while in the romance drama, it was just a slowed-down take of Ryle and Lily’s romance that wanted to show them in the initial stages of falling in love.
Thus said, now it is being speculated that the Gossip Girl star’s allegedly trying to get more creative control on the movie might as well be more than just true as it’s clear she might as well have ostensibly tried to recreate her romance scene with her now-husband in the domestic-abuse centered movie. But that’s not all that there is to this story.
Fans point out the pair’s Green Lantern romance amidst their legal drama
On the one hand, while Lively has sued Baldoni for s-xual harassment on the sets of their film together – complaining about the same slow-bar-dance scene that she seems to have recreated from Green Lantern – and accused him of behaving inappropriately, on the other hand, fans can’t help but notice how freely she was behaving with Reynolds on the superhero movie.
For one, they have been pointing out how Lively had her hands all over Reynolds in that one scene, notably at a time when he was still married to Scarlett Johansson. That said, they have been letting out how they can’t help but notice how Lively didn’t seem uncomfortable shooting with Reynolds, all the while coming up with conspiracy theories about the same on X:

Well, of course, all of this about Lively’s alleged recreation of her scene with Reynolds in her film with Baldoni is a result of a closer analysis of some of the patterns of both movies and is more of an evident study than a confirmed fact. Even then, it is ostensibly landing the actress in an even deeper fire than before, so it remains to be seen how it all pans out for her.
