What’s There in the JFK Files That Scared Donald Trump: The US President’s Confession on Joe Rogan Podcast Before JFK Files Releases

The assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 remains one of the most talked about events in the history of the United States. Even today, several conspiracy theories have been floating around about the tragic event. And now, after years of waiting, the US government under Donald Trump will be releasing the infamous JFK files once and for all.

Having made the promise during his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump had previously talked about the files during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Just before the long-awaited JFK files are set to be made public, his JRE podcast interview is going viral again.

The JFK assassination has given rise to several conspiracy theories over the years. And now, after years of keeping the world in the dark, the US government will finally make the JFK files public.

After promising their release during his election campaign, President Donald Trump announced recently that he will be releasing over 80 thousand pages of the said files. Describing them as interesting, Trump stated (via The Hill):

While we’re here, I thought it would be appropriate — we are, tomorrow, announcing and giving all of the Kennedy files. So, people have been waiting for decades for this, and I’ve instructed my people … lots of different people, [Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi Gabbard, that they must be released tomorrow.

Trump signed an executive order back in January to release the federal government documents relating to the assassinations of JFK, Martin Luther King Jr, and Robert F. Kennedy. While he did not release it during his first term, this time it seems everything will be out in the public and the public is waiting eagerly.

Donald Trump has always been bold when it comes to making promises and now his promise to release the JFK files is coming true. But before releasing the said documents, back in October 2024, Trump was a guest on Joe Rogan‘s JRE podcast.

During the podcast, Trump hinted at the shocking details within the classified JFK assassination documents, stating the following:

I opened them up partially. I was met with, from good people. Look, I mean good people. People that were well-meaning, Mike Pompeo was one of them. He’s a good person. uh, They called me, they said, ‘Sarah would rather have you not.’ After, and I did open ’em, but I was asked by some people not to open’em… People that I, that you would find reasonable people, and they asked me not to do it. So I said, ‘Well, we’ll close it for another time.

As for why he didn’t release them during his first term, Trump stated:

Addresses, people that are still living, there are people that are affected. uh, And there could be some national security reason that for, that I don’t have to necessarily know about, but some very good talented people asked me not to do it. I opened it up, and then they said, ‘Would it be possible for us to do that a different day?’

Describing it as a cleansing back then, he said that since people allegedly involved were still living they decided not to disclose them. However, having read about half of it, he said it is contentious that people would find anything of interest in there.
