The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to fan theories, rather it is one of the most attractive points of the franchise that draws fans. Now that Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film is in the making and Sadie Sink has reportedly been roped in for an unnamed role, one of the most exciting ideas currently circulating is that she might play Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst’s on-screen daughter.

Since the upcoming flick is rumored to be yet another multiversal adventure, to be released between Doomsday and Secret Wars, this theory does make sense and could be a game-changer for Holland’s next movie.
Sadie Sink joins Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4

Sadie Sink has made a name for herself after starring as Max Mayfield in Netflix’s Stranger Things. An impeccable actress who has been receiving rave reviews for her performances, she is a powerhouse that MCU could certainly use. With her emotional depth, strong screen presence, and action-ready performance style, it would be great if she is more than just a love interest for Peter Parker or not a love interest at all.
While Deadline reported that she has been cast in Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man 4, her role has not been revealed. There are rumors that she can be either Mary Jane Watson, MCY’s Jean Gray, Gwen Stacy, or even Firestar. However, the most appropriate of her rumored roles, that will fall right in the narrative, is Mayday Parker.
In Marvel Comics, Mayday or Spider-Girl, exists in Earth-982, as the daughter of Spider-Man and Mary Jane Parker. After Spider-Man injures himself, she inherits her father’s spidey powers and takes control. Given Sink’s hair color, looks, and the incredible acting range she has, it would make perfect sense if she is introduced as Tobey Maguire‘s Peter Parker and Kristen Dunst‘s Mary Jane’s daughter.
Sadie Sink being Mayday Parker fits into Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4

In Earth-982, Peter Parker injures his back and retires, letting his daughter take control. Given how Tobey Maguire’s Parker did injure himself in Spider-Man: No Way Home and was the only spidey to end up with his love interest, it would make sense if Sadie Sink ends up playing Mayday Parker. This will make more sense since Spider-Man 4 is expected to be a multiversal epic, and it is heavily rumored that Marvel will be bringing back Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the upcoming film.
Moreover, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will potentially start with Peter Parker having no friends and a fresh start as the web-slinger, it would be compelling to have him make new friends. Given that his chemistry with Zendaya‘s MJ is impeccable and unmatchable, it would be weird for Marvel if they introduce a new love interest for Holland’s Peter Parker. Instead having somebody he can relate to, trust, and team up with would make a more compelling narrative.
With the right storyline, this could all make up for a memorable installment. Not only would such a multiversal arc align with Secret Wars, but it could also make Tom Holland’s Peter Parker a more compelling character and allow him to forge new bonds after being left alone in No Way Home. If executed with perfection, it could redefine the Spider-Man franchise.
