MARRIED At First Sight fans have accused Shona Manderson of staging her engagment at the reunion show after she posted a photo of Matt Pilmoor’s emotional speech.
Some viewers accused the couple of stealing the spotlight by staging a “pointless proposal” for TV.

Matt had prepared a very heartfelt speech for Shona along with a surprise[/caption]
They met on the series in 2023 but were invited back to share their love story success.
At the end of the episode Matt stood up and poured his heart out to her and offered her a ring.
Shona has now shared a photo of Matt’s speech and fans noticed that it included a prompt at the end for him to “give ring”.
Writing about it on Reddit, one said: “From Shona’s Instagram, I’m not a professional actor but I know a stage direction when I see one.”
One more said: “Anybody else find the promise ring thing just a bit… odd?
“Okay so you love each other and want to commit in the future.
“Lovely. Just say that and get engaged when you’re both ready.
“Definitely felt like it was done for the show.”
A third insisted: “It was really forced.”
Despite the sceptics, Shona and Matt‘s relationship has being going from strength to strength off camera.
Shona was originally coupled up with Brad Skelly on MAFS.
But Shona left the series because of their unhealthy relationship while Matt married Adrienne Naylor as the pair entered Married At First Sight as late entries.
The Sun was later the first to reveal how Matt and Shona were secretly dating, after they were spotted together in a Starbucks.
Today, Shona hit back at fans saying the semi proposal was pointless.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a video and said: “Thank you for the lovely comments you’re all so supportive we appreciate you!
“The low vibes we will ignore nobody can tell me it’s pointless & I’m not semi-engaged!
“Celebrate every milestone life is for living we must enjoy the magical moments.”
Continuing, Shona said: “Matty and I are so happy where we are in our relationship and we’re in no rush.
“Promise rings are so cute.
“I would love to know who else has a promise ring and the cute story behind it! Let me know in the comments.”
