A DRIVER is fighting for his life after his car careered off the road and ploughed into a tree.
Mercy crews were scrambled to the scene on Auchincarron Road in Jamestown, West Dumbartonshire, at around 3.15pm yesterday.

The smash involved a silver Vauxhall Astra which hurtled off the road and struck a tree.
The 39-year-old man driving the car was bluelighted to Glasgow‘s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Medics say his condition is life-threatening.
A male passenger, also 39, was also rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.
He reportedly suffered serious injuries.
Cops closed off the road for around 10 hours as investigations were carried out.
It has since reopened and officers’ enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
The force is appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Scott Miller, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.
“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 2038 of 15 March, 2025.”
