Where to find all origami butterflies in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To kick off The Butterfly Collector quest, head to Katano, located to the west of Katano Castle in Osaka. Simply head to the ornament vendor, and there, you’ll meet an unnamed woman who introduces herself as the Gamemaker.

She’ll tell you about her little game: 10 origami butterflies hidden around Osaka, waiting to be found. Simply select the “I will play” dialogue option and start the quest. At first, the quest is all fun and games, but as you start collecting these butterflies, things take a darker turn.

Now that you know where to begin, let’s see where to find all 10 origami butterflies.

Note: Remember that these origami can only be found on a tree.

  1. Purple Origami: This is the butterfly that starts your journey for the quest and can be found on a tree next to the river.
  2. Green Origami: For this, players need to enter the house on the location and check the tree in the backyard.
  3. After collecting this origami, the All Will Be Well quest will be unlocked, adding more layers to your investigation.
  4. Yellow Origami: This can be found in the middle of a cluster of houses. Players will also find many cats nearby.
  5. Red Origami: This can be found on a tree located on the north side of the Temple of Osaka.
  6. White Origami: Simply go to the marked location, and players will find the butterfly near a small shrine.
  7. Brown Origami: Players need to go to the southwest side of Osaka and beside the river. Players will find the butterfly
  8. Pink Origami: Simply head to the location, and beside the road (on a tree), players will find the butterfly.
  9. This can be found on the side of the intersection. After collection, it will unlock the Find the Child quest.
  10. Head to the location, and on the river’s edge, players will find the origami. This will unlock the One That Got Away quest.

One thing to make your search easier: Use the Observe button to spot blue dots that will point you toward the butterflies within your field of view. It’s a great way to save time and ensure you don’t miss any hidden treasures.

After you collect all 10 butterflies, you will complete one part of the questline. Additionally, players won’t be able to find the Gamemaker after starting the quest. To collect the rewards, you must uncover the entire conspiracy, which will set the stage for various assassination and investigation missions.

In the end, what starts as a peaceful quest to collect origami turns into a tangled investigation with various consequences, showing that butterflies may be delicate, but the secrets they unlock are anything but fragile.
