Ryan Reynolds’ Confession Makes Critics Believe Blake Lively Lied About COVID and Justin Baldoni

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been fighting an epic legal battle against Lively’s It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. The actress accused Baldoni of s*xual harassment at the workplace and orchestrating a smear campaign against her during the promotions of the film. Baldoni, in turn, slammed the couple with a $400 million lawsuit.

In her lawsuit, Lively had claimed that Bladoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, did not have insurance coverage for COVID and did not follow any protocols, leading her and her newborn at the time to get the disease. However, another interview with Ryan Reynolds seems to have outed her claims.

The legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, and by extension Ryan Reynolds, has been nothing short of epic. Lawsuits and counter-lawsuits have been filed, accusations of bullying, s*xual harassment, smear campaign, and more have been made from both sides, with more to probably come out till the trial, which is scheduled for next year.

In her lawsuit against Baldoni, Lively accused him and his producing partner, Jamey Heath, of not adhering to COVID protocols on the sets of It Ends With Us. She reportedly accused Baldoni’s production company of not having insurance coverage for the disease and claimed that she and her newborn daughter at the time got the disease (via US Weekly).

She also claimed that Baldoni and Heath had hidden the fact that she was exposed to a COVID outbreak from her, and when she attempted to raise concerns regarding the same, it was not taken seriously. The documents reportedly said,

When Ms. Lively expressed her upset that Mr. Heath and Mr. Baldoni had hidden the fact that she had been exposed to a COVID outbreak on set, from which she and her infant contracted COVID. Instead of acknowledging responsibility and committing to safety moving forward, they expressed upset over production days missed and resulting costs.

After production resumed post the WGA writers’ strikes, Lively reportedly put forth a set of demands to come back, which included being informed of her exposure to the virus.

There have been several accusations flying around about Blake Lively’s claims. Everything from her s*xual harassment complaints to her accusation of Justin Baldoni orchestrating a smear campaign has been called into question. While the truth will only be uncovered during the trial, one accusation may have just been disproved by her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

In an old interview during the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour, Reynolds hosted an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin. In the segment with Corrin, he revealed that the actress gave him COVID after they had dinner together. He said,

I tested myself…you know, we had a newborn at the time. And, the next thing I know, I got COVID. Yeah, and it was the greatest six days of my entire life, thank you. I swear to God, I’m not even kidding.

Reynolds mentioning his newborn and his contracting COVID may just have disproven the claim that Lively’s newborn got it because of Justin Baldoni’s set.
