There are only a few games out there that truly age like fine wine, and fortunately, Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloobdborne is one of them. Despite being locked behind the bars of PlayStation exclusivity, it is one of the most popular video games out there, deservingly so, and it just became a decade old this week.

Bloodborne was not made without its own set of unique challenges, especially for FromSoftware, as both the studio and Hidetaka Miyazaki had to sacrifice a lot to get the game going.
Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloodborne and the developmental bloodshed it posed
On 24th March 2015, Bloodborne was exclusively released on the PlayStation 4, a platform it has exclusively called home officially for more than a decade now. Much to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s pleasure, the game has also managed to gather a cult fan base that has been bugging Sony to bring about an update to the franchise.
It would also be fair to say how Bloodborne was truly revolutionary at the time, as it brought together the core elements of the Souls genre and the beautiful graphics that only the PlayStation 4 was capable of running at the time, as FromSoftware has admitted themselves.
Moreover, with his involvement in the development of the game based in Yharnam, Hidetaka Miyazaki also had to step away from the development of Dark Souls 2, which is part of the reason why the second installment of the studio’s only trilogy is often rated way below the others.
10 Years to Bloodborne: Time to celebrate, and finally move on

In recent years, Bloodborne has enjoyed even more attention than before because gamers want to discover more about the Souls genre after the massive success of Elden Ring. However, most of them are left disappointed after they learn how the massive potential of the IP went down the drain.
The fans themselves have also been trying to revive the game by themselves. This includes finally bringing the game to PC after cracking PlayStation 4 emulation, which finally allows Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite game to run at 60 FPS and beyond.
If you are waiting for an official update to the game, it’s high time to break that dream. The only new content Sony has ever shown interest in creating for Bloodborne is bringing about a new themed skin in Astro Bot, which goes far to show how the studio still acknowledges the IP but chooses to let it sit in a corner forever as it works on other things.
