A BAFTA winning TV show has been handed a heartbreaking new spin-off that looks set to move viewers to tears.
Long Lost Family, has been running for 14 years and fronted by Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell on ITV.

The heart-wrenching programme has brought back together countless families under extraordinary circumstances and has even headed overseas, including highlighting the plight of Spanish mothers in a recent special series.
Now, the show’s producers have revealed they are turning their attention to UK Mother and Baby units to investigate the treatment of unmarried mothers who gave birth in units between 1949 and 1976.
The show’s long-standing social worker, Ariel Bruce, will be helping to bring back mothers who were separated from their newborn children in these units.
A spokesperson for the show said: “Around a quarter of the stories across our series since it began fifteen years ago have involved people who stayed in, gave birth in, or were placed for adoption from mother and baby homes.
“However, we have never made a programme that focusses solely on such stories.
“It feels like the right moment to do so.”
Show host Davina McCall added of the impending special: “These women’s stories are a forgotten part of our history.
“It’s vital that we help mothers searching for answers before it’s too late.”
The programme has now issued a call out to potential participants to take part in the series.
They are asking for women who were part of a mother and baby home and who had their child to get in touch with the potential of finding their child.

As well as the regular series, the show also has two regular spin-off’s which have become successful in their own right.
What Happened Next? follows participants who have previously been reunited and how they are getting on now as well as delving even deeper into their search and discovering other potential lost lost family members.
Born Without Trace has become notable for following ‘foundlings’ who were left without a single trace of who their biological parents could be.
Using DNA, the expert team are then able to track relatives down and finding out the truth of someone’s identity for the first time.
