The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, extended a generous gesture of compassion by giving RM1,000 to each of the 308 families affected by the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights.
The King visited the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at Masjid Putra Heights to personally hand over the contributions to the heads of households (KIR) who were affected by the incident.
Accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Agong also took time to speak with the victims and express his heartfelt concern for their well-being.
According to Kosmo!, the visit was further supported by several high-ranking officials including Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari; Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar; and Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
The King also made a stop at the Incident Control Post (PKTK) located at Jalan Putra Harmoni, where he was briefed on the progress of the investigation and the ongoing response efforts by relevant authorities.
The fire, which occurred last Tuesday (Apr 1) at around 8.10am, involved a Petronas gas pipeline and resulted in flames reaching heights of over 30 metres.
A total of 195 homes in the Putra Heights residential area were affected by the incident
