John Cena’s heel turn has left fans shocked and excited about WrestleMania 41. Heel Cena has been a different character altogether from the one we have seen for the past two decades. He is vicious and bitter about the fans and wants to destroy the WWE in whatever way possible. John Cena’s new character has been appreciated by many wrestling fans. It has made Cody Rhodes step up his game, as well as make his character look more heroic and show why he deserves to be the face of the company.
John Cena has not talked about the heel turn to the media. Recently, though, during a promotional event, he finally broke the silence on his shocking turn.

John Cena says there will be more “unpredictability” coming during this run
Cena, 47, recently spoke with PEOPLE while in Budapest and opened up for the first time publicly about the historic moment.
I’m going to say that there’s more unpredictability on the way.
John Cena said this of his next WWE matches during an interview about his role in Neutrogena’s new ad campaign surrounding its SPF products and the importance of UV protection, where he revealed that he had contracted skin cancer once.

When PEOPLE approached Cena for more information about what fans may anticipate from his persona in the weeks before the match, he graciously sidestepped the question.
Here’s the stance I’m going to take on it, and I think hopefully I can put it in terms you can understand: We’re in the middle of a very riveting season of episodic television and you are kindly asking me to give you spoilers, and I can’t do that. What I did really enjoy about your question is you expressed the unpredictability of WWE programming, and I think that’s one strong point of the current state of WWE is its unpredictability in its programming.
The Fast & Furious actor told fans that next month’s WrestleMania “will be the last I compete in” when he revealed last year that he would be retiring from professional wrestling in 2025.
John Cena was bested by Cody Rhodes on this week’s RAW
Cody Rhodes interrupted Cena’s attempt to address the matter during this week’s RAW by walking out to an entire crowd and singing his entrance song. Following a verbal altercation, Cena attempted to attack Rhodes but was defeated by the latter’s finisher move, the “Cross-Rhodes”.

Rhodes went on to enumerate all the things Cena might use to mock him, just like Eminem did in the last battle of 8 Mile. He talked about his American Nightmare tattoo, his lisp, and his previous WWE persona, Stardust.
As he has been accused of burying talent for years, Cena retorted that he does not feel the need to mock Cody because he wants to “bury” him. He went on to say that Rhodes was only his chauffeur and that he rode to the top in his coattails.
In contrast to Cena, who was picked by someone sitting in an office who is no longer even there, Cody Rhodes stated that he was selected by the audience. Rhodes said that in all of his experience with the WWE, no crowd had ever screamed, “You can’t wrestle,” pointing at him.
John Cena chose to sneak in a shot, but Rhodes was prepared for it and turned it into a “Cross Rhodes.” Rhodes was able to best Cena this week, but will he be able to do it at Wrestlemania? Only time can tell.
WrestleMania is set to STREAM LIVE on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, at 7 ET/4 PT.
