Berserk might be one of the greatest Seinen stories in existence, but its 2017 anime was a blotch on its reputation. In fact, most fans are more comfortable with believing that the 2017 Berserk anime never even existed.
Solo Leveling has had its own ups and downs. The Beginning After the End looked cranky before it had even debuted. But all these new-gen fans might shut up after taking a look at just how the Berserk anime was butchered.

Rather than counting what went wrong, it would be easier to see what was done right, just because they are so less in number. Nonetheless, fans had to bear with it with heavy hearts.
Solo Leveling and TBATE fans would stop complaining if only they watched Berserk 2017
Solo Leveling has delivered consistently good animation throughout both of its seasons. But that is until the finale of season 2. As soon as Beru entered the chat, the anime messed up. The climax of the much-celebrated season was not as grand as everyone had expected it to be. Fans are of the opinion that the final battle with Beru could have been animated better.
On the other hand, there is TBATE (The Beginning After The End), a popular isekai webtoon that has just received an anime adaptation. Anime watchers were already skeptical about the show from its trailers, but now that the episode has aired, the curtains have finally been drawn. Most of the anime’s viewers are of the opinion that the animation quality has suffered greatly.

While the competition was never MAPPA or Ufotable, fans still expected a certain level of respect for the series. Unfortunately, TBATE never received it. The worst part is that fans have an entire season left to suffer. But all of these complaints would pale in comparison to the one true disaster that was Berserk 2017.
Even the worst animations would bow down to the Berserk 2017 anime
There’s no way an anime adaptation of the legendary Berserk series could be that bad, right? Wrong! The anime messed up its 2D and 3D animation, and the entire season just looks like a failed experiment. It’s a sinking ship that should have been abandoned a long time ago. But, alas, the anime is still out on the market to terrorize unsuspecting fans.
The anime used CGI, but not in a way that would compliment the animation. Instead, it made everything look unnatural and lifeless, especially the characters. Viewers could not help but be distracted by the stiff and jarring movements and shots. The anime could not translate the original manga at all. A large percentage of the details present in the source material were omitted, making it look like a work from another author.
Of course, plenty of plot elements were also edited out. Important arcs or scenes were cut out with no regard to how crucial they might have been. In fact, not even the direction or camera work could save the series. It seemed like it was a project that was doomed from the very beginning.
Berserk anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
