Triple H Confirms the Level of Netflix Involvement in WWE Creative Process: “No input”

Speculations regarding the involvement of an online streaming platform in WWE have recently surrounded Triple H, the CCO (Chief Content Officer). In a major move from the WWE, it is now being broadcast on Netflix and has been bagging the audience from the very start. A major storyline also happened, where a long-time legend, who has been a Babyface, turned into a heel. This happened after the show went on Netflix.

There have been speculations about the influence of the streaming platforms in the creativity section of the WWE, as the sudden change in the storyline is just too good, and people think it’s Netflix that is doing the trick.

However, when BBC Newsbeat asked Triple H the same question, the content head decisively answered, silencing all speculation.

Triple H clears the air about the involvement of Netflix in WWE

Triple H recently had a conversation with BBC Newsbeat, where they put up a question about the involvement of streaming platforms in the creativity section of WWE. The question majorly came because of the conversion of John Cena into a heel, who has been one of the most popular baby faces of WWE.

This has been a creative masterstroke so far, and there has been speculation about the involvement of the streaming platforms in the content department. Triple H, while talking to BBC, said,

No input, we create the superstars, we create the storylines. We do all of that and the world watches. As far as the content of the shows… someone doesn’t tell the NFL how football’s played. They distribute our product

Triple H clearly stated that all the content creativity is from the house of WWE, and no one else is involved in that creation.

This question may arise after one of the most iconic baby faces turns into a heel. The John Cena heel arc has been an actual surprise to the WWE fanbase. Maybe it is hard to digest that WWE itself can rise again and create better storylines.

The storylines presented by WWE in present times might be debatable, but they have created masterpieces during the times of Vince McMahon as the CEO of the franchise. The Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon revealed his unhinged mind, where he talked about the craziest WWE storylines. Vince never stopped testing ideas and storylines, and that eventually converted into a multi-billion dollar franchise.

Vince McMahon and the crazy storylines of WWE

From illegitimate love affairs to backstage fights, Vince McMahon covered every aspect of drama and blended it into the WWE to create a good recipe for the audience. Among the most iconic storylines would be his on-screen affair with Trish Stratus.

Vince McMahon was so obsessed with his work that he pushed this storyline a bit too far and had to face some criticism in one segment where he humiliated Trish, asking her to “get down on knees & bark.”

The return of CM Punk, John Cena turning heel, and the Bloodline arc of the Tribal Chief have been some groundbreaking storylines from the WWE content team. With Triple H at the helm, a new era of WWE is flourishing that might just live up to the legacy of Vince, without the added controversies.

WrestleMania 41 will also be streamed live on Netflix, and it will be interesting to see how many numbers it brings and if it breaks any record in the farewell tour of the Champ, John Cena.

WrestleMania 41 will be streamed live on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
