SCOTS have been basking in the glorious sunshine as Spring delivers a blast of warm weather – with some hardy souls even taking the plunge during the heatwave.
As the days grow longer and the mercury climbs, Scots are making the most of the sunshine after enduring a long and harsh winter.

And weather experts have forecasted that temperatures could soon rocket to a scorching 30C.
Today, sunseekers flocked to Scotland’s beaches and lochs to soak up the rays.
At Luss on Loch Lomond, paddleboarders, swimmers, and sunbathers were out in force, enjoying the heat.
Temperatures soared to 19.7C – the highest the country has seen since the beginning of the year – at Atlnaharra in the northwest and in Kinloss in Moray.
And the sun is due to keep its hat on as a double dose of high pressure makes its way over the north of the country.
Meteorologist Clare Nasir of the Met Office said: ”Tomorrow, there will be a lot of sunshine around.
“The warmest will be in the west, where we will see the highest temperatures.
“It will be a lovely day for most people, with gorgeous sunshine coming through.
“On Friday, yet again, we will be bathed in that lovely April sunshine. Inland, it could reach 20C or 21C (68-70F).”
And STV weatherman Sean Batty predicted that April could welcome in a sizzling heatwave with temperatures potentially reaching the 30C mark.
He said: “He said: “Before the 1980s, no location in Scotland had ever exceeded 24C in April.
“However, since then, several places have surpassed that figure, especially in years like 1984, 1993, 2003, and 2019.
“While it may not happen immediately, it’s only a matter of time before 30C is recorded in April.
“Since 1960, the UK’s climate has warmed by just under 1C on average, making higher temperatures more likely than they were several decades ago.
“This shift means the 30C mark in April is becoming more achievable.”
