Co-sleeping is a family tradition for Rumer Willis. The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore just revealed that she shares a bed with her 23-month-old daughter Louetta “Lou” Isley — and sometimes also with her mom and her sisters, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31.
“Honestly, I hope Lou will, like, still sleep in bed with me when she’s my age,” Rumer, 36, said on Tuesday’s episode of What in the Winkler podcast with host Zoe Winkler, per PEOPLE. “I still sleep in bed with my mom, and I don’t think it’s weird.”

Rumer, who shares Lou with ex Derek Richard Thomas, explained that sleeping with her daughter feels natural. “I always think about it as, imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than [its] mom,” she said. “Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we’re like, ‘Oh no, that kid can sleep through the night. It’s got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self-soothe.’ They can’t even feed themselves!”
“By the way, we as adults don’t even know how to self-soothe,” she continued. “We call a friend. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream.”
We see where she’s coming from — and definitely don’t find it strange that she’ll still snuggle up to her mom at night. However, it’s worth noting that experts don’t recommend sharing a bed with your infant.
While the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) encourages sharing a room with your baby, they recommend that you do not share a bed with your baby to reduce their risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). They recommend laying your baby on a firm, flat mattress in a crib, bassinet, or portable play yard with no loose blankets, stuffed toys, or bumpers.
In addition to getting cozy at night with her family, Rumer mentioned that her and her sisters “all still take baths together” too.

“And that’s just the kind of house that I grew up in,” the My Divorce Party star explained about her family’s comfort with each other. “People might think that that’s crazy and weird, but I don’t.”
This echoes a previous statement the Sorority Row actress has made about her unique childhood. In a 2024 interview with The New York Post, Rumer dished, “I grew up in a house where we would lick each other’s faces, and my sisters and I would all — with my mom — we would all bathe together.” She went on, “And there was just a kind of crazy, silly, weirdo, goofy, naked house.”
She loved her childhood so much that she wants to replicate some of that freedom and silly love in Lou’s life. “I think that silliness and goofiness is so deeply a part of me, and it’s really what I want to help cultivate in [my daughter’s] life,” Rumer added.
