Netflix’s Devil May Cry has finally hit the streaming platform, and the reviews for the newly released series are flooding in. Fans of the anime community and the Devil May Cry video game have all agreed to the fact that the series might be the best anime adaptation of one of the greatest video games that was developed by Capcom.
Fans are greatly enjoying the series, and they are also trying to guess the many references and inspirations that the story of Netflix’s Devil May Cry has used from the original video games. And while they may or may not find references from the video game, they will definitely find a reference from WWE, specifically for the greatest wrestler of all time, The Undertaker.

The Devil May Cry series has included The Undertaker’s entrance song as the opening theme of the series. This might be a subtle hint, but it is a perfect nod to the American retired professional wrestler and also the video game that entertained gamers for so many years.
The opening theme song of Devil May Cry
The Devil May Cry anime series was originally announced in 2018, and it automatically grabbed everyone’s attention because of the fame and recognition that the original video game had. A few months ago, the series finally announced the release date, along with a trailer of the series that gave fans a hint of what to expect from the story.
Just after the trailer’s release, Netflix released the opening theme song of the series, which was a startling moment for many Devil May Cry fans. The creators decided to go along with Limp Bizkit’s ‘Rollin’ from their 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. It was one of the greatest songs by the Nu-metal band.
The opening theme instantly became viral, and the YouTube video of the theme song got around 573,582 views, 28k likes, and 1k comments.
This proved that Devil May Cry fans agreed with the creators’ choice for the opening theme and were happy that the series would start with such an iconic song from one of the biggest American Nu-metal bands.
Devil May Cry’s tribute to The Undertaker
Limp Bizkit’s Rollin’ is one of their biggest tracks in history, but aside from Devil May Cry, the only other popular individual who has used this song is The Undertaker. Two decades ago, when The Undertaker was in his American Bada** phase, he used Rollin’ as his entrance song and it was considered to be one of the greatest time periods for the American Wrestler.

The Undertaker’s reputation in WWE doesn’t need to be explained as he is probably the greatest wrestler in the history of the game.
Devil May Cry using the same song for its opening theme can be considered as a tribute to the wrestler. Not only that, it might also be a reference to the fame and popularity that the series expects with its first season.
Devil May Cry has already been released on Netflix and fans are loving it more than anything. Hopefully, this love will reach the creators, and they will soon return with another season of battles, thrills, and Dante’s adventures as a Demon hunter.
Devil May Cry is available to watch on Netflix.
