
‘A 17-year-old has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another 17-year-old during a confrontation at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, on Wednesday, April 3. The incident occurred around 10 AM at the Kuykendall Stadium, located within the Frisco Independent School District. The students were participating in the University Interscholastic Leagues (UIL) District 11-5A championship. Frisco Police reported that Karmelo Anthony, a student from Frisco Centennial High School, fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf, a student from Frisco Memorial High School, following an argument at the event. Authorities have not disclosed the specific details surrounding the dispute. Following the stabbing, lifesaving measures were administered to Metcalf, but he was later pronounced dead. Anthony has been charged with first-degree felony murder and is currently being held without bond. In a statement, the Frisco Police Department expressed condolences, stating, The Frisco Police Department grieves with all those affected by this devastating loss and extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family, students, and staff who are experiencing unimaginable pain. The department confirmed it is working closely with the Frisco Independent School District and offering support as needed. Metcalf, who had a 3.97 GPA and was known as a 6-foot, 220-pound football player, had shared on social media his belief in faith and hard work.
