One Piece: The Very First User of Luffy’s Nika Devil Fruit Is Clear as Day That Elbaph Will Confirm

The Devil Fruits of One Piece have always been pieces of enigma. Where did they come from? How did they originate? There are endless questions about them that are yet to be answered. Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika Devil Fruit stands at the very top of all the mysteries.

The one who used the Nika fruit before Luffy was Joy Boy; that much is clear already. But was he the very first user of the Devil Fruit? That is unlikely to be the truth.

Thus, one fan theory attempts to debunk who was the very first user of Luffy’s Devil Fruit. And the answer might surprise the entire One Piece fandom.

Luffy’s Devil Fruit was the first of its kind in One Piece

The history of the world of One Piece is dominated by long periods of oppression and slavery. The Void Century is a time of around 100 years when extremely important developments took place, along with the Great War and the rise of Nika. However, a theory suggests that Devil Fruits did not always exist on the Blue Planet.

Instead, it was the collective yearning of millions of people for freedom and liberation that led to the formation of Devil Fruits. These fruits, when consumed, give people the power to fight for themselves. And it is very likely that Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika was the very first Devil Fruit.

People created an imaginary entity called Nika which would free them from the oppressive regimes. It was this collective desire that led to the formation of the first Devil Fruit on the Blue Planet.

When Nico Robin worked for Crocodile as Miss All Sunday, she recited the events written in a Poneglyph to him. The Poneglyph contained the ancient history of Arabasta. It dictated the year in which Kahira conquered Arabasta, Taymar of the Bitein Dynasty began his rule and the date of The Great Taph Temple’s foundation. But Robin also began to talk about a certain ‘Hero of Oltea.’

Unfortunately, Crocodile stopped her before she could finish her words, but she did state that the hero’s name was Mamudin. The name Mamudin sounds extremely similar to Hajrudin, the giant from Elbaph who is the illegitimate son of King Harald. It is possible that Mamudin was actually a giant who went around liberating people from oppressive regimes.

On his long journey, he reached Arabasta at some point and freed the citizens from the rule of Taymar. That is how he became the Hero of Oltea. It could be a village of Elbaph that is yet to be revealed. Mamudin could have been the very first user of the Nika Devil Fruit, which he used to free people from slavery and oppression.

Since he is a giant, it would make sense that his straw hat that Imu still preserves is so huge. It is also possible that it was after Mamudin’s fall that Imu took over power.

One Piece anime is available on Crunchyroll, and the manga can be read on Viz Media.
