Black Ops 6’s Latest Multiplayer Change Is Beneficial for Console Players but Might Leave PC Players in the Dust

Black Ops 6’s Season 3 is here, and it is bringing a lot of new features and some monumental changes that are focused on making the gameplay experience a lot better.

This recent update, however, has overlooked PC players as it fails to give them any benefits. The new things coming with this update are only favorable to console players.

Activision will be introducing new game modes, maps, weapons, and a new zombie experience; Verdansk will also be returning to Warzone. The most important update is regarding the new cross-play mode option, making this one of the biggest updates to date.

Black Ops 6’s latest update is bringing some monumental changes

To start things off, this recent update has introduced new options for MP in Black Ops 6. This update has provided fans with separate settings for MP Ranked Play and Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play. A new multiplayer-only setting has also been added for Quickplay, Featured, and Party Games matches.

This is going to be one of the biggest updates this game has had since its release. However, things are not as they might appear at first glance since one might eventually notice how badly the PC players have been overlooked in this update.

The newly added crossplay feature allows console players to queue across all gaming platforms, including PC. This is an attempt to reduce the matchmaking times by a huge margin.

Players will have 3 options: they can turn the crossplay feature on, which will enable them to queue with anyone across all platforms; “On” (Console only) will remove PC players but will allow them to queue across all consoles. Off will restrict matchmaking to a particular console but will negatively impact matchmaking queue times.

This update does not give PC players the option to choose; they are restricted to the old ways of queuing for matches and will not have the option to turn crossplay off. It is still not clear why Activision would alienate PC from the option to do so.

Crossplay between PC and console for FPS games is never a good option

There is a night and day difference in the experience of playing any FPS game on a console as opposed to on a PC. The game feels much better and smoother on PC than on console, and the skill tree for both is quite different.

It is much easier to aim by using a keyboard and a mouse as opposed to a controller due to various reasons, mostly to do with the speed of the mouse. PC players obliterate console players in any FPS game and cause a massive imbalance.

A crossplay between the two for an FPS game like Black Ops 6 seems to be a recipe for disaster. However, there is still time before we get a clearer picture of this. Until then, please share your opinions on the matter. Do you think this crossplay feature is beneficial in any other way apart from making the queue times better? Let us know in the comments below.
