Any actor would certainly dream of sharing intimate moments on screen with the beautiful Emilia Clarke except for her Game of Thrones costar Kit Harington. The latter admitted he was not delighted at all when the dreaded love scene was filmed because the room was full of awkwardness.
It’s understandable, though, because they have been best friends for more than half a decade, and the fact that Clarke was also pals with the actor’s wife, Rose Leslie, makes it even more uncomfortable. It’s still good to know that those love scenes did not put pressure on their friendships.

Kit Harington wasn’t thrilled to kiss Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones
Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen infamously shared a bed scene in Game of Thrones Season 7. That moment when they finally gave in to their feelings was one of the most genuine scenes in the show, but of course, viewers felt uneasy knowing Snow’s true parentage.
It wasn’t only the fans who felt restless throughout the whole scenario because even Kit Harington didn’t like it. He’s good friends with Emilia Clarke, and to share a very passionate kiss with someone you’ve had a platonic relationship with for many years felt extremely embarrassing. The actor admitted in his interview with Vanity Fair:
If you’ve known someone for six years, and they’re best friends with your girlfriend, and you’re best friends with them, there is something unnatural and strange about doing a love scene. We’ll end up kissing and then we’re just pissing ourselves with laughter because it’s so ridiculous.
Harington met his now-wife, Rose Leslie, on the set of the show, and not long after they fell in love, they tied the knot in 2018. Despite his civil status, he still had to perform his job, and it was reported that after filming those scenes, he would break off from the kiss and humorously fake throwing up.

Even the British actress would imitate the sound of retching, and then they would laugh it off because they found the task very absurd and hilarious.
In another conversation with Mirror UK, Harington said they still could not shake off the feeling whenever the three of them are together. “Even though you’re actors and it’s your job, there’s an element of weirdness when the three of us are having dinner,” he confessed.
Emilia Clarke’s brother also felt uncomfortable with the Jon Snow-Daenerys love scene

The day of filming that controversial scene was even more awkward as Clarke’s brother, Bennett, was also part of the camera department. The actress said in a panel at the Superhero Comic Con and Car Show (via Twitter):
I do remember the day, our s*x scene day, and my brother was in the camera department and he was on set that day. He came and said to [Harington] like, ‘Mate, you gotta get me out of here!’
Well, they all had to endure that scene, didn’t they? In the end, it still paid off as they got a lot of reaction from the audience, and it became the talk of the town for quite a long time.
Game of Thrones is currently available to watch on Max.
