THERE were major delays on Dublin’s M50 motorway this morning after a four-vehicle crash shut down two southbound lanes.
The smash, which blocked the right and middle lanes near J6 Blanchardstown, was cleared shortly before 8am this morning.
However, delays continued throughout the morning, with some traffic reportedly backed up as far as the M1 interchange.
Dublin Fire Brigade earlier confirmed that it rushed to the scene of the incident and closed down two lanes.
It said: “We have closed two lanes on the M50 at Junction 6 Southbound as we respond to a four vehicle road traffic collision.
“Slow down on approach, expect delays.“
Another collision on the same motorway caused more delays earlier.
The crash took place on the M50 northbound at J10 Ballymount.
The scene has since been cleared but it blocked the hard shoulder and the left lane for some time earlier today.
Dublin commuters are also facing delays on North Wall Quay approaching the O’Connell Bridge westbound.
It is understood delays earlier reached all the way back to the 3Arena.
