In 2024, The Rock started a storyline where he openly flaunted his role on the board of directors in TKO and said whatever he wanted to. There came a time when his rules differed from those of the entire WWE roster.
The Rock gets special treatment from WWE after his appointment at TKO
The Rock and Roman Reigns had a beef with Cody Rhodes in 2024, and following this dispute, Cody Rhodes secured a title shot against Roman Reigns.
During this storyline, the Rock was running wild with his words and his actions. It looked as if there was one rule for the Rock and one rule for the whole WWE roster. That appearance stemmed from Triple H, known for his authority, ignoring The Rock, who slapped Cody Rhodes in front of him.
It was so much freedom for the Rock that he even cursed in front of Triple H and even in the ring, when WWE was running warning signs for other WWE wrestlers to keep the content clean for everyone to watch.
The free rule was visible during a heated conversation between the Rock and Codi Rhodes. Rhodes and Seth Rollins were inside the ring, and the Rock was running on fumes. He said,
“You walking clown emoji, piece of sh**t, you listen to The Rock.”
This is not the first time when Rock has been sharp in his words. The Rock took a sarcastic take on some languages that didn’t go as he would have planned.
The Rock speaks Swedish and Chinese
In 2000, a segment at SmackDown featured a storyline where Mick Foley was confronting The Rock for running over Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The Rock came in, and in his defense, he not only answered in English but also in Swedish and Chinese. However, it was a sarcastic take from him as he just rambled some words trying to replicate the accent. The crowd largely applauded it. Some later criticized it, viewing it as an insult to a particular race.
However, it is all a part of a storyline, and the Rock, when inside the WWE, is a character. There have been multiple times when the Rock has been an absolute menace on the Mic.
The Rock had also been involved in the recent heel conversion of John Cena. It was after his soft signals to John Cena that turned his appreciation of Coy into his devastating on the night of elimination chambers, 2025. It will be interesting to see if The Rock appears at WrestleMania 41 to influence the fight.
