The Call of Duty franchise is an absolute masterpiece in terms of first-person shooter games. The series made by Activision literally drops you amidst various war-like scenarios and makes you feel the true experience of being a war hero in those situations.
But being thrown into a war randomly does not feel fair for someone who has not been in an actual war, and that is why Activision introduced us to one of the best mentors in their series. Of course, we are talking about Captain John Price.

Let’s delve deeper into this and find out why Captain Price is an absolute unit of a man and also why he is the best instructor for anyone playing the game.
Captain Price is the mentor in the entire Call of Duty franchise
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the first game that introduced a modern take on warfare (see what I did there), which none of the other games had even thought about at that time. The 2007 game developed by Infinity Ward was also the first game in the CoD series that had an intense campaign series, which was almost movie-like, and it also introduced two of the best characters in the entire franchise, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish and Captain John Price.
Captain Price won our hearts for the first time in Modern Warfare, and till now, we have not gotten over him. He is not famous for just being a recurring character in the Modern Warfare sub-series, Price is the living representation of leadership and resilience in the chaotic world of the game. He serves as a mentor to the player’s character, making him more vital in the franchise.
Instead of following traditional ‘heroic’ roles in any other warfare game, Captain Price operates in the gray areas of Call of Duty. He is an absolute badass who is willing to bend the rules or defy direct orders to protect lives and complete the mission, and his most famous quote, “We get dirty, and the world stays clean,” is the perfect embodiment of his philosophy.

If a Call of Duty movie ever gets greenlit, then Henry Cavill would be the perfect casting choice for Captain Price. Cavill’s strong physical presence and his deep and authoritative voice could flawlessly resemble a younger Captain Price. Cavill also gets extra brownie points for being a video game enthusiast, and if he is a fellow Call of Duty fan, then his passion for the role would ensure an accurate representation of the moustached war hero.
Price single-handedly carried the entire Modern Warfare sub-series

Captain Price is not just another soldier in war with you, he is the embodiment of a legend, and although he is a tough mentor in the game, he will always have your back no matter what the situation calls for. Price is not worried about breaking the rules if it means doing the right thing, and this sort of behaviour just makes us respect the character in a video game even more.
Captain Price is not just a fan favourite in the Call of Duty series, he is the one character that carried the entire Modern Warfare sub-franchise. As Call of Duty evolves throughout the years, one thing that remains certain is that Captain Price is and forever will be the heart of Modern Warfare.
